With the new beta style, Cream, I rotate banners at the top of the site. If you're an artist and want to create some banners that you'd like to see at the top of the forums, feel free. I rotate them whenever I get the urge. With all of the awesome screenshots our members have taken and uploaded to the Gallery, I've just been using those.

Banners should be approximately 2000pixels by 250pixels. This will allow it to work on most people's browser widths. Keep any important aspects of the banner out of the middle so the logo doesn't cover it. The logo isn't place on by you. It's a layer above the banner on the site. Post what you want in here. It should be related to our focus of the site with video games being in the forefront and movies/tv second. If you have a really cool piece of art you created from scratch, I'd definitely give you the exposure and put it up even if it doesn't jive with the above focus.

there's a ton of a good fan art out there that could be used. though i'm not sure about the technicalities of using it (?)

also, it would be pretty cool to have themed banners for big game releases and holidays and such

when i zoom in/out the image gets cut off at the sides/gets larger. i actually need to zoom 0ut more than the normal page size to see even the full image

*i have no idea if this is how its supposed to work or not, but it seemed strange

You're zooming out way too far. I'd have to make the images 3000px wide to accommodate that far of a zoom out.

na my zoom is fine , i was just trying out other zooms. just found it weird that at 100% it doesn't show the full image, and at, say, 200%, the image is cut off drastically. i assumed the image should be staying at a constant not be getting cut off at the sides, no? or is it that intentional design

That's how the site is responsive and allows to be viewed on multiple platform and zooms. To get the image cutoff I have to zoom out a pretty large.

it cuts off when you zoom in also, though. but fair enough its that the intentional design ! :)
 
Customize-able header for premium members? Possible to put my own banner pic in? Similar to my profile?
 
I love this idea. I don't think I am good at making banners, but I think I will at least later post some graphics I have made and their PDFs for someone to use as a template they thy wanted.
 
PV is the master of his own destiny. He doesn't let no automated scripts control him.
 
Here is just an old graphics of mine. I finally found it. If someone wants to use/modify this to make a banner, they definitely can. And if someone wants the PDF for it to play with, I can PM if you ask.
