Canada has legalized marijuana.

That's big. An entire country. I think I read that it's only the second country to do this. Uraguay was the first.

Quasi-unrelated, but theyre starting up pill testing stations at music festivals here in Oz.

They've been publishing on twitter the amounts of random stuff/types of drugs that people are buying.

A few people must have been pissed when they were told "Ummm.. that's just talcum powder."

Well I know where I'm going on vacation this summer.

Might want to wait until Hallowe'en. Doesn't go into affect until Oct. 17th.

But yeah, this is going to be a massive money maker. I don't personally use marijuana because I have anxiety issues and it just doesn't suit me (oh I did a lot of drugs in my teens, might have something to do with my adult mental state) but it seems pretty harmless and people that do it are gonna do it anyway, might as well get that billions of dollars funneling into the government to help with social programs/infrastructure/etc etc.

They are already predicting that in the first year sales of marijuana will be greater than liquor (don't believe that includes beer btw, may include wine?) which is quite a massive injection into government revenue.

And almost all provinces will allow people to grow their own marijuana at home but there is a limit on amount you can grow (I heard it was six plants? no way they are gonna be able to regulate that though haha)

Seems like a great idea to me to legalize marijuana. I can only imagine when other nations see what kind of money is rolling in this will spread all around the world.

While I don't have to use an inhaler, I have asthma so probably not a good idea on smoking it. Edibles maybe..

What's the turn around on driving?

Do cops test for it when you get pulled over? I used to get drug tested at least once a week 'randomly' on a Saturday morning going to work.

Will this also have a massive textiles benefit for more unrestricted ability to use Hemp? I think Canadians can grow Hemp, but it requires special licensing or something.

In America, I think even growing Hemp is illegal lol.

It can also be used for a lot of other products like Hemp Seed Oil.

Really, at a few of the farmers markets in Cali I’ve seen plenty of cloths and other trinkets made from it? I’m assuming they grew their own to make it.

In my experience, smoking it is not so bad at all. However, if I'm at a party and people are passing it around, it never fails to take the breath out of me. Smoking alone should be fine, but be weary of sharing the same room as others smoking.

I usually don't have any issues being near someone else that is smoking. If it's a really smokey bar or something I feel it a bit in my breathing but it's not something that really bothers me.

When it comes to tobacco smoke, I'm actually the same way. It's second hand pot smoke that gets me.
