I was watching it thinking, hmmm...why are parts from Battlestar Galactica, Kong, Superman and Avengers.

I saw the same trailer the night after watching Infinity War and wondering if it was real, even though some clips seemed familiar. Ultimately I just assumed it was a fan trailer, but it's pretty well put together. People are getting really good at making these, and I'm always having to tell friends at work that no, the Star Wars trailer you just saw was not a real official trailer for 'X'.

Cannot be unseen.

Captain Marvel in the comics is in shape and thick.
This is her body type in the comics....

Of course everybody would cry 'OMG she is over-sexualized' if they even cast a woman who has these kinds of curves. It is just absolutely ridiculous how they can stuff Scarlet Jo in a tight leather suit for most of the MCU and then turn around and cast the most plain-Jane looking woman without a hint of curve or muscle to play an intergalactic superhero who is curvy and fit. MAKES NO DAMN SENSE.

Brie Larson is hot as hell though

Looks pretty meh to be honest, mediocre special effects and she comes across as bored more than anything. Also that emphasis on "Her" when Hero was coming on screen is cringy as F! lol. I'm really not excited for this movie at all.

The funny thing about super hero movies is that the more powerful the character, the harder it is to make the story interesting.

Honestly too I bet Marvel runs into a problem trying to compete with its own Infinity War. That movie just raised the bar and now everything after is going to seem worse. I didn't see Black Panther until after IWar and I wasn't as impressed with it. Had I seen it before, I would probably have liked it a lot more.

She looks great, good body, movie prob will be mediocre though. Thinking they might fool randoms to go see it thinking they're going to a real Marvel movie.

Doubt they’re gonna feel duped into seeing such a thing. It’ll probably be grounded like Black Panther and Antman, and the first Captain America...if all the flak guardians of the galaxy got before it was released, saying it was gonna bomb and be their first flop, then its got a chance like any other movie in the MCU.

I thought Black Panther was a fun movie but nowhere near as good as the hype would lead us to believe, it also had a lot of really bad looking special effects. I like the characters in the movie and it was great to finally see Angela Bassett in a white wig in a Marvel movie (She should have been Storm in the original X-Men) but the story could have been told better. I had the same issue with Wonder Woman, good movie made to sound much better than it was and again suffered from some AWFUL VFX, Themyscira always looked fake, it had a video game cut scene look more than a natural environment.

I hope this movie is good but so far it just doesn't appeal to me.

I'm not sure she starts out that powerful. She might inherit this later in the film. Possibly given by Mar-Vel played by Jude Law.

Still, this has been dealt with in THOR good and bad, so hopefully some lessons have been learned on what works.

I would like to see Pre-Hulk Banner fit in even if very briefly, perhaps as part of a SHIELD project. It would be interesting to his character act with no concern of anger, or even if he was a short tempered scientist before the accident. Or put this in the end credit.

That trailer was extremely average. I'm still holding out hope that the movie is good.

I think Space stuff in Marvel has come to be associated with a certain type of quirky humor that is absent in this serious trailer. Maybe that is a turn off to some, but I think its kind of refreshing.

I say we boycott this milquetoast **** and tell Hollywood we're willing to support R rated sci fi original IP from a variety of different creative minds. No more movies made by algorithm! Say it with me!

Ridley Scott keeps trying with Alien and it keeps floundering for some reason. Strangely, I think it's because he listened to much to the fans which is why so much from Prometheus was wiped out.

For some reason, it is very difficult to make Sci-Fi and Horror work well, especially anything in space.

Horror has strange issues between fans who demand intense scares and those who appreciate thoughtful creepiness or stories that are more disturbing. IMO, the latter makes for the most memorable films. Anytime big budgets get involved, horror flicks drift toward the quick shock scares at the expense of supporting the story that required a higher budget in the first place.

Look at Blade Runner 2049 a great critical success that was a damn good film that audiences didn’t go see. Sorry Sunset as much as I love serious Sci Fi films the general public doesn’t always want to go see it.

It's a little awkward to in that with such a massive long run time, you can't show the movie as often. Or maybe the run time itself was partly a turn off.
Then again, I don't think even the original Blade Runner did well, but it did become a Sci-Fi classic. I'm not sure how much studios take into account strong long term earnings.

Well, I think nobody really cared to see BLOCKBUSTER Video again lol. That's not a good way to start this trailer lol.

Is that the best franchise they could think of to establish the 90s setting?

How about a shopping mall that isn't half empty?

Not to mention it was still a thing in the 00's
