To be fair, we haven't seen it in HDR.

True but most games I've seen so far with great lighting showed it even without HDR enabled. Look at injustice 2, the colors popped in every video they showed and it does a great job of making the colored lights stand out.

The thing giving me hope is that Terry Crews model. It's so different from what they have been showing from a modeling standpoint that I just can't see it meshing with what we've seen so far. It does lend some credence to the shown footage having place-holder models..... Fingers crossed. Of course, for me, the animation is lacking when there is such an opportunity to do some cool things.

Edit: HMm, I am watching the panel, and every time they show that awesome model, it says "pre-rendered cinematic model"

I think it will look like what they have shown so far. You will see some tweaks regarding effects, lighting, etc., but they would have been more forthcoming about the build being older if they thought it would end up substantially different.

Yeah the in game graphics don't look like that, it doesn't match the game style at all. I kind of wish they had gone with a more colorful style sort of like agents of mayhem. It's going to be hard to really impress with a cell shaded game on a technical level anyway so you really have to knock it out of the park with the art and animation, so far the animation looks pretty average and the art doesn't look like it's really improved all that much from the first game.

Also I did watch more videos and paid closer attention to the lighting, some of it does look decent but there just isn't enough of it, had they put more neon signs etc around the city I think it would have helped a lot.

I guess cel shaded open world games were only 'exciting' between February and March.

Another one to add into the made up rules club

I think it looks good in the following video. The character selection is at 12:46 and gameplay at 16:05. The singularity gun at 43:30 is pretty cool too.

This game looks so good. WTF is wrong with people's vision? It's a beautiful game and it looks super fun too. I wish they would add like a slight tremble to the frame when you shoot a powerful weapon or land on the ground like a super hero. It would just make the feeling more visceral. Other than that, it's fuking awesome.

Yeah, the video posted above looks pretty damn good.

Haha, "Commandeer Enemy Vehicles or Borrow Civillian Transports!" Love that.

Why is this video not more shown by MS? or at least show this stuff to people. MS is dropping the ball on this game's Advertising.

She is not good at playing that game either :(

I took a gander at the comment section and you of course have the "it looks ugly" crowd, but when someone asked why a dude said bad textures and bad draw distance? what? Kinda ridiculous how little people know about what they are saying sometimes.

The more I see, the less worried I am about the visuals. It looks decent. My main rub is the lack of imagination in the animations shown so far.

Crackdown 3 is coming to Gamescom, fixing Comic-Con’s big mistake
We’re about to get another close look at Crackdown 3.

We got a glimpse of Crackdown 3 at this year’s E3, but big parts of the game—including the much-touted multiplayer mode with its cloud-compute powered destruction—weren’t on display. The game showed up again at San Diego Comic-Con, but we didn’t see much we hadn’t seen before. However, Xbox box Phil Spencer has promised that we’ll see more at Gamescom.

Crackdown [3] will be at Gamescom and we’ll show more there,” Spencer said in a tweet. “Yes, I saw the SDCC stream. We’ll make sure we have a good demo.”

The latter was in response to a fan specifically asking about the multiplayer part of the game, so with any luck, we’ll finally get to see the progress of the hyped-up destruction system.

Gamescom runs from Tuesday, August 22nd, to Saturday, August 26th. Crackdown 3releases on November 7th for the Xbox One and PC.

I think that's a good call imo. Really packed holiday season. Game has a better chance in the spring. Also more polish time.

Given the luke warm reception its showings have had its the right move. It would have been completely overlooked in the Holiday season.

Definitely the right move, this delay leads me to believe the "this is an old build" line might've been bs. Rod Furgesson and Ken Lobb are probably being called in to damage control if thats the case.

They're too invested to release nothing at all. They could at least recoup something by releasing even a lackluster game.
They have been showing this game for too long and have made a lot of excuses for it.

Delaying again is a sign that this game is shallow and not living up to expectations internally to me.

you worry waaaaaaaaaaay too much.

I agree it is a packed holiday but its mostly multi platform stuff. This would have been a really good time to have some big hyped exclusives. As it stands, it leaves them just Cuphead and Forza for the fall I think. Pair that with the silence on the X1X pre-orders and you could almost believe there might be some issues with the xbox team.

If they were going to go that route, Scalebound would still be a thing.

Scalebound looked like a dumpster fire at e3 and that was after two delays and seemed like it was leading to a third delay.

A bit different IMO.

They haven't been showing it that long and that's the problem, they announced it in 2014 and E3 2017 was the very first time we saw real gameplay which I think most people would agree didn't look all that great. Not only was it not very impressive visually but it wasn't running smoothly either even on PC.

I'm not shocked it was delayed, it's probably for the best but I do hope they use the time to really push the visuals more, this wasn't going to show off the X1X anyway so not having it won't be a big deal as far as the launch of the console but still it's not encouraging that a game that has several studios working on it had to be delayed two months after it's release date was announced.

Well the multiplatform stuff is Crackdown's competition.

They have had a poor year for exclusives but sending this game to die wouldn't solve anything. Especially if you ever want to see a Crackdown after this.
