I agree it is a packed holiday but its mostly multi platform stuff. This would have been a really good time to have some big hyped exclusives. As it stands, it leaves them just Cuphead and Forza for the fall I think. Pair that with the silence on the X1X pre-orders and you could almost believe there might be some issues with the xbox team.

Even if Crackdown 3 was releasing on 11/7, Forza would still be the showcase title for the 1X imo. That's not even taking into account the multi's like Battlefront II that looks freaking gorgeous.

IMO, and I am probably in the minority, the xbox division does have some serious issues.

They are still recovering from the direction the division was taken nearly a decade ago that culminated in the 2013 fiasco with the X1.

Spencer and the rest of the Xbox team have done a great job of moving the ship in the right direction, but they still have a good amount of movement to go to return to the direction that the division was heading in the early days of the 360, imo of course.

you worry waaaaaaaaaaay too much.

There is no worry at all. The game will either launch or it won't. Based on previous titles this far into development I say it won't.

They haven't been showing it that long and that's the problem, they announced it in 2014 and E3 2017 was the very first time we saw real gameplay which I think most people would agree didn't look all that great. Not only was it not very impressive visually but it wasn't running smoothly either even on PC.

I'm not shocked it was delayed, it's probably for the best but I do hope they use the time to really push the visuals more, this wasn't going to show off the X1X anyway so not having it won't be a big deal as far as the launch of the console but still it's not encouraging that a game that has several studios working on it had to be delayed two months after it's release date was announced.

Can they really improve the visuals at this point? I truly believe the game is shallow and is not testing well.

good they delayed it, not a strong enough ip to go up against starwars, cod etc.

yes 2017 has been poor with exclusives but now they have games to release through out 1st half of 2018. Also they will have the marketing rights to the biggest 3rd party game at end of year with anthem.

we still have forza, super lucky tail and PUBattlegrounds.

just dont turn this into the toxic thread thats happened at neogaf.

Certainly doesn't help the perception of MS lacking exclusives in 2017. It's been an incredibly thin year for them.

Also doesn't help with the hype around the X1X -- although I guess it's better than having an unfinished, poorly reviewed dud come out, alongside your shiny new console.

Lends credibility to the people who voiced concerns about the game, vs. those who said all was well.

No doubt it'll do better in the Spring, though.

Good! I'm actually happy about this. After Microsoft has rushed out numerous games for the holidays that could've been so much better with a little more development time, I'm happy they're putting this back in the oven. Crackdown could and should be a very good game. The core gameplay from the original was fun. Sounds like they aren't giving up on fully destructible multiplayer. This is good news to me and a sign that Microsoft is taking their 1st party more seriously. If they had given up on it, it would've released this year.

It'll be a light year for permanent exclusives no doubt. It's a strong year for multiplats. PUBG is also being a bit underrated in terms of it's potential impact.

They have been showing this game for too long and have made a lot of excuses for it.

Delaying again is a sign that this game is shallow and not living up to expectations internally to me.
Not arguing those points. Just saying a No Mans Sky scenario is better than another Scalebound scenario.

Good? lol

I would agree with that it is always better to launch a crappy game then cancel it.
I would also say that neither is really acceptable.

It just seems as of late MSoft 1st party has been missing the mark on their AAA 1st party titles.

I was really looking forward to this game and I am truly disappointed by this news.

Not agreeing I thought SB looked great and had major potential.

I can't agree, potential is one thing and it rested solely on the name Kamiya and the still shots; graphics looked good and all, but literally everything else looked bad at E3. The last E3 was the worst showing of the game as it was embarrassing that was Kamiya on stage himself playing it. A 30fps Kamiya game is heartbreaking enough, which could've even been fine enough, but it had combat looking like a floaty, watered down, run-of-the-mill hack n' slash. As they showed it, i wouldn't have bought it and i own every other game the man has touched.

I cringed so hard when they had the 4-player co-op... nobody alive could phrase a sentence to convince me they didn't think that looked completely awful. I don't believe you.

I'm with you. This was one of my most anticipated games for this year.

Lol. Not only do MS have nothing new or much at all really, they can't even release what they do have:laugh: This game was supposed to release in 2016. Only 2 months ago they announced the release date:txbrolleyes:

MS is becoming a joke.

What's left for this year? Forza 7?

It looked fun and many were looking forward to it.
Crackdown 3 looked fun...a year ago and now it looks bad and no longer fun.

Hmmm...lately it seems that MS is operating off the old Nintendo playbook...not good. Well, at least the third party support is there.

At the end of the day if this ends up going out within 4 years and is a truly exceptional title then all will be forgiven. The biggest mistakes will have been the communication to the community and the mishandling of expectations.

On the other hand, if this thing is below average or gets delayed even further, or both (god forbid), then this will be a huge debacle. I realize things like this happens, but when your first party offerings are so limited already you need to be hitting homeruns on what you do offer.

Also funny cause at E3 people were saying it needs more dev time....

they probably saw agents of mayhem and knew cd3 wouldn't deliver as a launch title. They f***ed up though, they would of sold more copies as a launch game. Now this game is gonna get over looked releasing in spring

That would probably be the case if the X1X was a traditional console launch. One with limited launch lineups and hungry gamers willing to buy lesser games because the options aren't great. That isn't the case here and in truth Crackdown 3 did not appear to be high on the list of games that make the X1X look like necessary purchase.

Regardless of when it comes out its success hinges on it having better world of mouth before and after it releases.
