This is why I never like for companies that show games that are 3-4 years away. Show me a game at E3 and say it's coming out in a few months

Ugh. hope its not true but damn MS if it is. That will have been 3 consecutive years of delays for this title.

Well Phil did say....

We have a plan and team is locked in on their date. We will talk about it more upcoming but wait won't be too long.

Locked in on their date, but didn't say what the date (or year) was. Could be 2019 folks!

Concern trolling for CD3. Lol.

That game isn't canceled or delayed. The smart money is its still on track to release this year. No way they delay or cancel at this point.

Well if the game isn't out in the next few months it might be smart to delay it. You don't want to send it to die against that October release slate.

There's nothing wrong with showing games early, the only problem arises when a release date is set and it gets delay after delay.......if you don't know when it's going to be ready, or you're currently having challenges with the model don't pin a date to it.

I personally feel we need early previews it keeps the momentum going and gives everyone a buzz, something to look forward to.

What are the odds that this year long delay occurred in part, to get the destructible environments back in the game?

Still think it's funny how Flynn spent the better half of 2 years saying Uncharted 4 was a joke and downgraded only for a game like Crackdown 3 to not only get a downgrade with it lacking full scale destruction at E3 showings but to still not even release. Like come on Microsoft, give that man a raise. He out here fighting for you.

He must have hurt you pretty badly for you to bring this up out of the blue like this....

Not a believer in this game either. Never understood the greatness in the first one, played it fairly thoroughly too.
At best it'll be a 7.5/10 but I have a feeling it's going to be more like a 6.

Well at least the scoring will be consistent.

I think the problem with the release date is what Phil said awhile ago: it was announced too early in development. The recent delay wouldn’t have been as big of a deal if it hadn’t been announced so long ago.

And also, the level of destruction they are shooting for seems to be beyond anything that’s been done before.
I think any dev trying to do something that big and new would probably run into problems.
*If* they can pull off what they are attempting it will be well worth the wait.

That’s a big *if.*

My concerns are the total lack of info, and the ‘meh’ impressions from last year’s E3. I’m hoping for something special since then.

This is the first game I’m heading towards when those doors open. There will be gifs of me clotheslining teenagers to be first to play it.

Oh yes, there will be.

Hopefully they turn it around, the first one was fun and there is potential for something good here if they are able to do things like tighten the controls, make the melee more than just spin kicks, have different throwing animations based on what you picking up, add a cohesive story and just get the graphics/performance up to snuff.

I don't believe it was ever going to be released in November of last year, the fact that it was delayed until spring and we are now just over two weeks away from Summer without a peep tells me they still had/have significant work to do and the November date was just a PR move to get them out of E3 without having to talk about how long the game was in development. Hell it got a crappy short trailer instead of a gameplay demo, how often do you see that happen at 1st party E3 shows with games that are coming that same year?

Probably will be a 7.5 or 6 with the way reviewers magnify every flaw when it comes ro Xbox games. SoD2 scored pretty low and its still selling pretty damn well.

I'm just waiting for the cloud destruction to work as promised and the media claims such physics were accomplished back in the NES days. Dat... Dat sh!t gone be funny.

How do you know how well it's selling? They said a million people played it not bought it, game pass is going to muddy those figures up from here on out. Sadly some "gaming journalists" are just titling their articles "sells 1 million" without that actually being what was said.

Do you own it? it's an ok game but it deserves the scores it's getting, I paid $50 for it and it had what I would call game breaking bugs like having your HUD disappear when fighting the games toughest enemy so you couldn't aim the gun with any reliability since the reticle was gone or even change your weapon. Thankfully they patched that about two days ago but that kind of thing shouldn't have happened in a 1st party game IMO.

This victimhood thing is awful though, they aren't picking on MS lol MS is putting out unfinished games and they aren't getting away with it which is how it should be. They announced games 3-4 years ago that are just releasing with a lack of content or lack of polish, that shouldn't be happening and if any publisher does that they should be called out for it.

It doesn't deserve the scores it's getting. Of course I'm not having half the issues you're having though. But it's a fun, addicting, and surprisingly deep game with all that's going on.

You love the game and that's great, but let's be real you probably were going to like it a lot no matter what happened right? We all go into sequels of games we enjoyed being a bit more forgiving than people who were lukewarm on the previous game or maybe never played them before. That's not a knock on you, we all are guilty of that at some point myself included.

I'm not saying there isn't fun to be had with SoD2 but honestly I haven't found much depth at all so far. The lack of any story to speak of is really hurting my experience with this game, the first one didn't have much of one but at least it had something, this one is just constantly doing the same few things over and over again. While that can be said for most games they at least tend to have a story or defined objective that gives you a reason to do these things, so far all I've gotten with this game is random people I never meet talking about stuff on the radio or people who call out for help and then get pissed off if you don't show up in time.

I went back and played it again last night after not touching it for about a week, I wanted to see if that huge 20GB patch did much and while the game seems to look a little cleaner and sharper when it's not moving I still see way too much blur and the framerate was clearly going below 30fps while just driving around in a field or sprinting. I'm glad they say they've fixed that disappearing HUD bug though but I have to say the game as released and the shape it was in at the time of reviews was getting fair treatment.

Of course......
