Nah, game reviews aren't the same animal, over the top fun can still garner great reviews, that write up just made it sound like it's making excuses for what the writer thinks will be low review scores when the game releases.

Yup same here!! While reviews are coming in I will be owning orbs left and right and destroying some buildings online.

The technical test seems to be broken as I cannot launch a match. Play time was from 12-2 today and instead of pressing A to launch the match the message of the day keeps coming up.

Edit. NVM the play time is from 3-5pm eastern.
 
What were people expecting with this game? I'm not expecting much from this game but I don't really read reviews so i don't care what metacritic says. I'm sure it will still be fun to play for a little while.

Sure they do, look at many of the sega arcade dreamcast ports, fun as hell but many was 3h game and was it. Dynamite cop is one I had a great time with and played a lot with friends, but prob would get around that score if released today (or lower).
 
The original CD scored an 83 on MC. I’m still guessing 75 for this one, but as long as it’s fun, I don’t care what it scores.

Has anyone tried wrecking zone? Destruction looks legit:

I really wish people would stop using reviews as a metric for good or bad. Reviews are poorly written, biased, clickbait, lying pieces of s***.

If you want to see if a game is good or bad for you, then go watch some streams. It is a far better medium, you see how it plays, you see the content, you see the technical faws, you just see the game for what it actually is.

the reviews are not based on their professional opinion, it is based on the hits they can get to make money on their sites. MS hate is what makes them make money.

Wow the spin is already starting.

Lets be real here.
Game has had a looooong development cycle,has had delays to make it better and releases in a time frame where many quality/popular games are releasing.
XB needed this game to be GREAT,not bad,not good and not looking like a pre 360 era 4K game.

That is pretty sick. People in the insider program that were playing yesterday have been praising wrecking zone.
