The Darwin Project takes place in a dystopian post-apocalyptic landscape in the Northern Canadian Rockies. As preparation for an impending Ice Age, a new project, half science experiment half live-entertainment, is launched. It's called the "Darwin Project" and it challenges participants to survive the cold and fight to the death in a treacherous arena. The Darwin Project offers a competitive multiplayer third person survival experience featuring at its core a new gameplay innovation: the manhunt. In his or her path to victory, a player must survive extreme environmental conditions, track opponents, and set traps in order to win.

This is that game that’s like a cartoony Hunger Games...right? Graphics and animations weren’t great but the concept sounded fun.

I'm keeping my eye on this one for sure. I've warched a few streams and was somewhat turned off by the pace of play but you might just need to get used to it. It definitely has some cool ideas.

Yeah, animation might kill it for me...

I have it downloaded. 2.7 gigs. There is a two hour free trial. I watched some videos of the game though and I didn’t like what I saw at all. I’ll try to get in a game or two tomorrow

It's not quite my cup of tea. I'm not really feeling the combat at the moment but the gametype is kind of interesting with the whole 'player vs player vs environment vs omnipotent being' aspect.

I'll give it another shot when it's a bit further in development.

Watched videos on it and the animations haven’t improved a bit since the E3 reveal. Combat looks floaty. I think if the core of your game is built around combat, it should be a lot tighter than that.
