I've never bought a multiplatform game because of a marketing deal or even exclusive dlc honestly.

I have bought multiplatorm games that were outright exclusive for a period of time though.

It's more about getting the PS4 brand out there in advertising, you'll be seeing what are likely to be the two highest profile games of the holiday period and maybe even the year (RDR2, COD) with the playstation logo at the end of every commercial and probably even special bundles. I just mean that they'll have something to advertise so it's not like they will be going through the fall with nothing to show but commercials for games that have been out for months.

Strategically it makes total sense to push Days Gone into next year, hell I don't know if it was going to be ready this year or not anyway but with Spider-Man likely hitting in late Summer it's going to be a big year for exclusive releases for PS4, next year we don't know what's going to be ready. We know Ghosts of Tsushima, TLOU2 and Death Stranding are all being worked on but we don't know when they'll actually be released, it could very well be that two of those games don't make it until 2020 so pushing Days Gone to next year makes sense.

I understand why they do marketing deals. I'm saying that they basically mean nothing to me as a gamer.

Me either but they seem to do a lot for them with the more casual crowd.

Not sure if I would've gotten this, but it makes me angry inside that they took that option away from me the year.

Agreed. The commercials are no incentive for me. Neither is a 30 day window for a few maps.

Oh for sure. They do it for a reason. It works.

I usually go for the best version or wait for price drops anyway. The last game I bought new was SotC and that was a $40 game.
I like the best playing versions...usually its from a tech perspective but extra content and certain friends for certain games is also a factor that can make the way a version plays more enjoyable.

Yeah that's why I'm debating which console to get FC5 on, I'm guessing the One X will have the higher resolution but nobody I know plays on Xbox anymore and if the co-op is fun it won't be an option for me there.

As a console gamer watching an ad with a PS logo means nothing if its running way more pixels on my nice 4k screen.

Does it matter if its 2 games or 20?
I play the Destiny games so its huge to me.
No, it doesn't matter I guess. I just am miffed as to how you said in the past that the 40% power difference between the PS4 and X1 was your deciding factor on where you bought your multiplats, but now with it the other way around, you changed your tune.

I have stated numerous times before the X launched my preferences. (so get outa here with that crap)
If one format meets my checklist that's the version i buy.
PS4 had the best visual versions but also met my other needs.

Ok

I have had PC's that outperform console's and i still go with console versions with multiplayer games, i have said this for years.

I've seen you say that the best place to play MP is where your friends are playing.

Most people I know prefer to play with friends including me.

Getting up to a year exclusive content matters to this gamer as does friends and online services.

Too many games already. By the time I switch to another game and come back it's already on then other console. Plus DLC is lame these days. I can't remember the last time I was impressed with anything they've done.

It's like Rise of the Tomb RAIDER, one year exclusive on Xbox. But by the time I got around to buying it, it was on my PS4 Pro.

PC players go absolutely bonkers when I say this on the Fortnite forums but I agree 100%. I have always preferred console to PC for multiplayer. PC over console for single player.

One of the reasons I bought a Pro,after that small gameplay they showed initially with all the Zombies pouring out the barn lol...too bad it wont hit this year but hey,you know the sayings... ;P
