Dead Cells

Just saw where the framerate drops in action heavy sequences on the Switch :really:

Sure, i'll get it eventually. Like the countless other games i always claim i'll get, lol.

I thought they loved it. They just had the problem of their writer ripping off someone else's stuff

They did. It was just during their investigation they set the score to 0.0 and put the word "disaster" in the final review box. At quick glance, it made it appear as though the game bombed.

The biggest winners are the developers of the game, which I believe get a big publicity from this incident. They do deserve it, considered it was highly rated.

Started going on runs this weekend and I suck at it. I'm sure that's the whole idea. I'll slowly chip away at getting better. I do enjoy it. I wouldn't put too much time into the game, but will play an hour here or there.

Almost bought it but passed, too expensive. Needs a demo!

Not exactly the same, but there are tons of streams of it. May give you a good indication of how it plays.

Yeah I did that first, but just couldn’t make a decision! Wish I could get a feel for the gameplay. Anyway I eventually realized how big my backlog is and thought I could wait for a sale lol

This reads like a Trump tweet.

Fake news

Well because I’m a weak, weak man I bought this game and can attest that the hype is real. Loving it so far

For some reason the games industry doesn't seem to like sharing sales numbers with the public, so it's always interesting to hear about how a current game is doing straight from the source. This weekend at PAX I spoke briefly with one of the marketers behind indie sensation Dead Cells, who mentioned that the game is performing much better on the Switch than the PS4. No concrete numbers were provided, but I was told that the Switch version of Dead Cells is outselling the PS4 release by a factor of four to one.

Yeah, I've been wondering about buying this, but I usually despise these so called rogue like/light, the idea of losing all progress and start over is a mechanic I'm not finding enjoyable 2018 (2019). It's the biggest reason why I don't replay nes games much anymore.
Anyone having same gripes as me but still enjoy this?

This is the exact reason I stopped playing.

I'd make it to a specific boss (which would take 30+ minutes), who would absolutely decimate me, then I'd have to do the 30+ minute run all over again. Getting killed by that same boss a 3rd and 4th time sapped all enjoyment I had from the game.

Plus, you kind of have to rely on RNG loot to play. Some runs you just don't get the weapons you want which is even more discouraging as you approach that boss who's had his way with you so many times.

I keep hearing they're patching the game though so maybe they fixed some of these issues? Not sure.

Well you lose most progress not all but yeah you need to be ok with this mechanic if you are going to play it
