I've been in a few good PC clans. The problem has always been time and my schedule, not people.

I use LFG to get through the Nightfall and that is a nightmare. The problem I see is LFG is like a dating website. Everyone lies :)

"Done all raids on hard mode dozens of times" -> translation - My light level is 50 points lower than the min and you'll need to carry my butt. Oh and I have no mic because nobody uses the earbud that comes by default, and nobody spends $20 to get a bare bones one on PS.

Again I think our experience differs by platform. I'd love to see some stats on the different platforms, but all I have is my anecdotal experience on both.

Must do. It seems PS gamers suck if they struggle to do a strike..I mean Nightfall.

I've had more good experiences using LFG than bad. But in-game matchmaking would be a faster more convenient way to group up over using a third-party app.

I'm still not sure if I'll get D2 on launch, wait to see how the XboxX version turns out or ignore this game all together. My main problem is I got so addicted to D1 that I ignored too many other games. And this fall I want the new Star Wars game, Shadow of War and some other titles I don't want to miss. Ehhhh, still have a few months to decide.

A proper in game LFG would be best. But LFG on Xbox is a good middle ground. Quick, easy.

I run into people who are 40/400 and can't finish heroic strikes. You'd be amazed. Obviously I'm not bragging about my Destiny skills, but someone at max level who can't farm heroics?? Honestly I'm not sure if people are drunk/high or are letting their kids play on their accounts? They have no mic of course so you never know. Not that this happens all the time or anything, but it happens far too often. Obviously most still do ok. You run across a lot of Leeroy Jenkins too. Sprint to the middle of the map and get wrecked. It is comical at times.

Once they added modifiers to the heroic strikes it got worse (made them more fun with a competent group of course). Some people obviously have no clue what this means.

You've also never had the joys of people instantly dropping when the PS exclusive strike comes up (even though it is super easy for some reason people have never done it and quit out).

I'm nt amazed. Lost count how many times I basically solo srikes because o idiots lke that.

My favourite idiot is the one who brings anything but the burn type for the playlist....or maybe my favourite are the ones who bring a sword to fight bosses like Cerburus VII, Abomination Heist, etc.

Are there more than 2 strike locations in D1??? I swear every time I do a strike, it's the same two locations. Should I be getting anything at the strike end? And if so, where would I find it?

I bought the Taken King, and figured out how to go to the postmaster and push my level to level 25.

Have no clue. Not sure what you should get without ROI.

With ROI you will get engrams drop from the boss and potentially a key to open a chest for strike specific loot.

So do we just keep playing the same strikes over and over on the same map?

I have no clue. A fair few strikes are in the Siva Heroic Strike list, which I assume you can't access.

What strikes have you played?

Tried some Player vs. Player last night in Destiny 1. Not a fan. I realize that the campaign and strikes are the only thing that interest me in this game.

It can be fun in short spurts but the competitive multiplayer isn't where I spent most of my time with D1. I will say that I'd play the hell out of Iron Banner just for some piece of loot I though looked cool. But the majority of my time was spent on the campaign missions, strikes and raids. I'm really interested in the new public events that are coming. Its always more fun doing battle with a group larger than a strike team.

And about raids, I hope Bungie doesn't make them too long. I loved Vault of Glass but its too long. The Crota and King's Fall raids were a good length, not too short or long. I never did play Wrath of the Machine raid because I skipped Rise of Iron dlc because of burnout at that point.

What is the difference between a strike and a raid? The strikes just seem like a co-op mission with a boss at the end.

Raids are long missions with several boss encounters. They also has mechanics which require teamwork to complete. A lot of times raids require the team to split up to tackle objectives so communication is very important. Strikes I would say are simplified or mini raids. But they don't really show how much more complex raids are. In the beginning of D1 it was not uncommon for me to spend hours or almost the entire night trying to complete a raid. Thankfully there are those on the web that will figure raid mechanics out and post in-depth videos showing how to complete each section.

Check out a video for any of the raids and you'll see the hellish fun Guardians have to go through. I still remember the struggle I had with the Vault of Glass jumping puzzle.

Wow, this game is much more involved than I had ever imagined.

Ohh yeah, Destiny is a deep game. The problems arise from people like me playing the hell out of the available content in pursuit of loot. We burn through the same content over and over again and then complain about the lack of content forgetting we put in hundreds of hours.

Bungie did a good job of adding content but it was never enough for some. By the time the last piece of dlc came out some two years after initial release I had burned myself out of the game. And then like an idiot I went head long right into another loot/shooter with The Division.

Maybe it is different between platforms, but the PS experience finding people is completely different (remember too, only Xbox has those nice build in LFG features in the console). On PS, you can only invite someone to a game if they are in a chat group with you or on your friends list (nobody knows about the chat groups, so everyone who wants to play with you one time adds you to their friends list)

Getting into a clan is the best way to meet people in my experience. Of course the problem is finding one where people play at the same time as you. Still, the jerks and trolls get booted pretty quickly so you get some base level of decent gamers. As long as you avoid the clans that automatically take anyone, at least one person has played with everyone and at least had a decent experience.

Hopefully guided games will help some of us fill in the gaps for these larger groups.

All those who get booted out of clans end up on a 3rd party LFG sites. Going to those is like the Cantina scene in Star Wars.

I don't want to turn this into console warz, but I'm guessing there is a difference in the platforms and the average person you come across.

Join the community I am in on ps4 and as always hit me up and I can help.

That is exactly what a strike is. Some of themin ROI got some raid mechanics added, best of which is Nexus Mind.

Raids are far more complex. Multiple mechanics. Coordination. Communication. Teamwork.

As an example; before you even start tye TTK raid you have to split in to 3 groups. One stays centre and deals eith adds. The other 2 go left and right and must pikck up an orb, the other person in tyose teams kill adds. Once both left and right team get back they must dunk the orbs at the same time.

Just that little bit requires all that stated above, and that is before the faid even starts.

They actually didn't do a good job adding new content at all. It was mostly sttory stuff and llacked in the content needed most.

Super regeneration has been increased across the board.

No HDR support at launch.

Those are the onoy 2 bits of info from IGN's s***ty ' ask the devs anything.'

Ehhh, you can disagree and that's cool. But Bungie added new strikes, raids, events and story missions throughout D1. I felt there was a lot of content support for D1. Sure, The Dark Below campaign missions added were a bit anemic content wise but it also added a few strikes and a raid. The House of Wolves was a lot of fun and I believe introduced the Prison of Elders. The Taken King was a large expansion which brought us the Dreadnaught to explore. I'm not even touching on the competitive multiplayer stuff or Rise of Iron.

Omnigul was such a b!tch/witch in the beginning. :smash:

TTK was an expansion, not DLC...and took away just as much as it added.

You think adding 2 new strikes and a raid is doing good? Nuh uh...not even close. s***, ROI only added 1 strike.

Even Bungie admit that their new content quantity wasn't good enough.

After 3 years what do we have? about 7 relevan't strikes, 4 raids and Prison of Elders. That is all the end game content we have, half the raids an POE werent even relevant for over a year.

I remember reading Bungie not being happy about the content schedule not the quality of the content.

Either way, you're free to disagree all you like its all opinion based so there's no right or wrong. I think there was plenty of content for D1 more would have been nice for a game that requires grinding but there was a lot on offer at least for me. The design and grind became too much for me after a while which is why I moved on. But playing the Beta after such a long absence from Destiny made me remember just how much fun the core gameplay is.

Didn't say quality, I said quantity.

Not opinion based for me. In a game like this end game is king, and the end game is severly lacking after 3+ years. To make it clearer. Year 1 had 2 relevan't raids and POE. Year 2 had 1 relevant raid. It has only been the last 6 /7 monts were all 4 raids and POE were relevan't at once. Similar thing with strikes also.

I agree 3 years of kickass support and the last 6-7 months was awesome.

Watching Destiny raid Vault of Glass right now by the Dream Team. Looks fun.

Just finished it for the 1st time Wed night made out like a bandit. Got no time to explain quest atheon's eye, vex mythoclast, and preadyth's timepiece adept. Not to mention the legendary loot gear and weapons.
