Although it sounds like griping, I still want to play more of Destiny; especially with others.
Not griping at all. The simple fact is, and despite Bungie's 'we learnt our lesson with not having enough content,' the game lacks content. The static weapon rolls killed the incentive to play between content drops. Loot quantity is hilariously lacking for a fixed roll system.

Strikes are totally irrelevant once you get Origin Story & Nameless miidnight from Zavalla.

End game = A Nighyfall and A raid. Which is hilarious.

Flashpoints are a joke.

Public Events are a joke.

Even with Faction Rally coming tomorrow it will not make much difference thanks to its passive set up and we will be lucky if 1 re-skinned weapon per faction will have a half decent perk.

Yeah, all I can do is check off my Milestones each week at a chance to get a powerful item that should be greater than my light level. Then I can pick up some more drops to infuse.

There's a lot of interesting end game discussions going on. I really think they are trying to get people like me (I guess I'd call myself a semi-casual, I play a lot but nowhere near as much as some who are already basically done). I think they were looking at the low participation in raids and Trials and trying to get more people into those activities.

My guess (and it is just my guess) is that they are trying to get people away from things like farming strikes and more into PVP. Removing 6v6 kind of removed the casual option and making it 4v4 made it a tiny bit more accessible.

I don't mean to say that the hardcore crowd should be happy. Love it or hate it, I think they are shortening the grind in the end game, at least for now. I think that is by design, because they could have added a bunch of arbitrary things to grind just like D1.

Datto has a good video on this. On PS4 it still only shows 17% of people completing the raid, so that's something that stands out to me (the game is still early of course, but we saw similar stats well into D1).

Disappointed so? I'm glad I didn't bother watching any of those hype videos. I had zero expectations for this game so it hasn't disappointed me at all. It's fun and it has a better end game than the first one, even though it's a little repetitive.

Had some more time with the game and am liking it a lot more as I play. I didn't fully understand the leveling system at first and had some bad info. I thought blues capped at 260 or 265, but they don't, they drop higher based on your power level without mods (which is confusing as all heck until I read this)

My only problem now is I'm stuck at "forever 279". I need legendary mods to get higher, but I need to get to 280 to get those mods. :smash:

Next week's reset should get me there though.

I'm enjoying the PVP a lot more this time around. The meta isn't perfect and can be a little campy/standoff-ish, but there's still strategy to it. I'm running into teams that have 2 people sort of scout camping while the other 2 flank. You see distant hits on your radar in front, then all of a sudden hits behind and they have you. I started doing it to other teams and it is a lot of fun.

Also the Nameless Midnight is a beast. Anyone complaining about Mida hasn't unlocked this yet. Actually the weapon balance feels fine. Scouts rule not because they are overpowered, but just because range is king right now.

The most important things in PvP are head shots, teamshotting, and knowing your weapon's effective range. People put too much credence in individual weapons. I've used several different weapons in PvP and done fine.

Yep, what's funny is that it seems like the time to kill on the guns is almost exactly the same from D1. If anything, the fixed perks make them all boring and more balanced. It is a lot more about tactics and aim than finding the best guns.

So, Dead Orbit weapons are surprisingly crap.

I went New Monarchy on my Hunter for the shaders and scout--wish it had explosives rounds--which I have already.

Warlock went FWC for the hand cannon. Unfortunately, the hand cannon perk sounds better than it is, it is a weaker explosive rounds. Still, it is a nice hand cannon. Still wanna get the scout rifle.

Hunter & Warlock armour are crap across the board and is re-skin heaven. Shame!

Shortening? There is no grind. All the changes they made make the game less playable in the long run. Everything is quick & easy to complete Once people hit 305 their time playimg is going to drop massively.

Seems like FWC is the way to go for guns. I love that you can apply shaders to guns now so you don't end up with those default colors.

Of course they put one vendor on the complete opposite side from the other two just because... :smash:

thanks for all your help last night Grimmy , good times in Destiny. I am getting so close to being able to RIDE around in the maps instead of run :) Thanks for waiting up for this lowly level 17 guy :)

That was my 2nd character so I had spare sparrows. No problem.

I wanted to play longer. I should be available tonight and will even have a mic ready ;) We can go and level you up pretty quick to 20. They way I did it is doing public events on Titan. It has the shortest route between events and one will start when the other finishes. Plus, there's a bunch of valuable targets that will spawn.

I haven't finished the campaign yet, and I need to finish that before I can get the 20. I am on the last mission though I think.

The sparrow thing was kind of annoying. I've got a purple one now that basically spawns with little delay. Telluride or something. The usual delay in spawning the sparrow is gone.

I also hit 280 thanks to our PS4 clan! Haven't had much time to play because of this crazy heat wave here (my house is 86 degrees). Stupid me pulled out all my a/c units over Labor Day, now it is 90+ every day. :smash:

PS4 clan!

I was going to to Xbox 1 because of the X but by the time the X launches I'm afraid Destiny 2 will be on the shelf until some new content comes out.

I REALLY need to play this game but I have no one that I know to play it with. I bought it on release day just to get to the first social space and I haven't touched it since.

What platform? Guided games supposedly went live this week so that should help.

My only beef with the game is it kind of forces you into a clan now. I think we have one going on each platform. The great thing about a clan is you get legendary engrams just from everyone playing.

PS4, I own/played Destiny 1 on Xbox One.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I think I played Destiny 1 with you a bunch. Haha.

Well, if you are on tonight, my character is close to finishing the campaign so we could do it together.

Got to 301 with my Hunter last night. Hopefully the weekly powerful gear will now be dropping around 300 for my other characters. That should boost them nicely.

I just watched a video showing how to get loads of faction tokens really easily and fast. Basically you go to whatever Lost Sector and destroy the weapon pile but don’t kill the boss. Then all you have to do is fast travel out and back and the weapon stashes respawn for you to destroy again. Rinse and Repeat.

I must say, I’m tempted to do this. But at the same time it was a lot of fun going through the Lost Sectors last night. So I don’t mind doing it the way Bungie intended us to. But I thought I’d share this for those looking to farm tokens in the least amount of time.

I want the Dead Orbit armor for my Warlock. It looks really cool. New Monarchy has some really cool Titan armor which is nice because that will be my next class.

That's what's funny about the game. Everyone on Reddit says "there's nothing to do!!" then every other post is how to cheese/glitch your way to getting everything super quick. Don't look for the youtube shortcut on everything and then say you're bored an hour later.

There's no point in power leveling. Trials doesn't even have level advantage enabled.

I play about 15 hours a week on average and haven't power levelled any character, save for getting them all to level 20 so I could start the end game, and I do think that there isn't much to do myself. Once I've completed the weekly milestones that's more or less it for me then until the following reset.
It doesn't bother me as it keeps me interested at least on a weekly basis but I feel they could have really done more with some aspects, like Lost Sectors - could have a procedural dungeon type mission with a strike level boss at the end - Flashpoint could have been more than complete 5 or 6 public events. There could have been some objectives to achieve as part for it for example.

They do have a good starting base this time around so hopefully the DLC will bring improvements

I think procedural generating certain areas (lost sectors, etc.) would've been neat.

I also think they could've done the same with guns and gear, sort of how Diablo does it. Except from Light Levels the gears are usually the same. Sure you can swap a mod you have to grind for or buy.
