I'm kind of enjoying playing less, as silly as that sounds. I don't feel compelled to dedicate every gaming minute of my weekend to Destiny.

Yeah most people I know have already stopped playing as much.

The Crucible gameplay is just too defensive for me to enjoy.

Yeah they need to find a way to open up PVP a little. The campy trading scout rifle shots gets kind of old. They need to bring movement back into it more. There's weapons that are effective up close, but it is hard to get up close with everyone camping lanes.

Kotaku has a great read on the endgame (or lack of). Think they make a lot of good points.

Personally, I am kind of happy to not have an endless grind. I'd rather not spend 90%+ of my time in one game, no matter how much I enjoy it.

Oh and if you want to see how many hours you're spent wasted playing Destiny and 2:

You might be but it seems the majority are not. Bungie went too far trying to please the casuals like you who had the misconception that you had to grind 10 hours a day in Destiny to get anywhere.

Kill longevity and you kill the userbase. Kill the userbase and you kill the game. I seriously doubt DLC will help with the current 'give everybody everything quickly' ethos the devs have now...and it certainly wont fix the woefully lacking end-game.

The "end-game" is for you to be a sherpa for us scrubs. So get to work! :hehe:

Honestly I have no idea what they think the end game should be. They purposely patched out even the amount of time it took to get Call to Arms, so they clearly don't want a grind. I have no clue what they do want. I know I've barely played and am 290. I'll easily hit a wall in 1-2 more weeks.

So is the Dead Orbit scout rifle worth buying? I went FWC so it costs a lot of glimmer. I already have tons of good scouts (the one from the FWC is actually great - Pleades something or other.

Thanks to everyone for going Dead Orbit over FWC, basically cooler looking shaders vs better guns. FWC was going to sell a pulse as good as the Lincoln Green (if not better).

Yeah, Dead Orbit probably had the all around worst weapon to sell for the competition. Oh wellz. I wouldn't get it for the price, sounds pretty average. Here's a fairly in-depth review if you're interested.

Selling something at half the glimmer cap just rubs me the wrong way. Plus, you know Bungie is going to nerf the heck out of scouts any day now. They are going to do the same thing to scouts that they did to autorifles in D1... nerf them almost out of the game.

Games user base will get rather large with each event and dlc.

I myself need content and i need it now.
Less content less play from me.
Thankfully Iron Banner and the Halloween Festival are around the corner.
Hopefully they offer enough content and November seems stale...

Nope. I bet Scouts don't get nerfed at all. They are not op, they are just popular.Bungie knows this.

I doubt it. It will see a spike but the DLC are not going to offer enough content. You might be right when it comes to expansions.

If the Haloween is nothing content like D1 then it will have minimaleffect.

So far their " drip fed' content is all stuff that should be in the game anyway, Iron Banner is another example of that.

When has Bungie ever done what's right?

Scouts aren't OP, but Bungie isn't going to know how else to open up the meta so they are going to do what they always do - nerf hammer.
My prediction:

1st Iron Banana is supremacy, as it is the only gametype that breaks people out of their scout camp mode (only a little) then they nerf scouts on range.

I hope I'm wrong, because scouts are fine. The problems in the game aren't scouts themselves, but that everything leads to that kind of play.

Wow, barely a month removed from release and people are screaming about the lack of things to do.........Not a good look for Bungie.

I just got my second class (Titan) to level 20 so that should keep me busy for a while. I'm still having a good time getting stuff for my Warlock but I wish there was a Heroic Strike playlist to get infusion materials from.

I still haven't done the Raid yet but as I research weps/gear there is nothing that truly stands out that would make the effort worth it. I don't see a Mythoclass/Fatebringer type of weapons that would make me grind over and over again. The armor looks cool.

Also, I haven't done any Trials yet. I'm nowhere near the greatest when it comes to PvP but I want to try it out. How many wins do you have to get for a chance at Trials loot?

It seems most of my Clan is at or near max level. It would be cool if we could set up a few days out of the week for some of the more difficult activities but I know that's tough with everyone having a different schedule. It looks like I'll have to go back to LFG if I want a shot at any Raid/Trials gear.

I used the Guided Games option twice on Monday. When I used it solo for the Nightfall it took like 20 mins before I was put on a team. But the guys I ran with were super chill and we had a good time. The second time was when myself and fellow member U2 needed a third player so he could complete the Nightfall and we got our third player in minutes and he was actually a cool guy that gave me some info about the game that I didn't know. So far Guided Games which is basically matchmaking has been a good experience. I'm not sure if I'd use that over LFG for the Raid though.

Bungie needs to add matchmaking to nightfall already. Everyone complains about no end game, yet 90% of the community hasn't done a raid or even a nightfall (haven't done one myself yet, mostly out of laziness to find people and I level up just fine other ways).

I'm always up for stuff on the weekends. Unfortunately weeknights are tough for me and even more now that hockey season is starting up.

For the DO scout rifle, it's not worth 50k. Not even close. Nameless Midnight and the multi tool are better in every way

Worst 50grand in glimmer I've spent in my life...

Yeah the stupid glimmer cap makes that crazy expensive. I already have Nameless Midnight and a few other scouts that are better.

Has anyone ever gotten anything from one of Cayde's stashes? I spend all my glimmer on those maps and get absolutely nothing. Not even a blue engram which might be slightly useful as infusion fuel.

yes, they need to stop this bullsh*t with no matchmaking with these type of games because to me I am not playing my game in full. This is not 1990 where we give out IP address to players to hook up.

Yes. I've gotten Dire Promise and Sweet Business from his stashes.

Second week where I've received the Titan armor 'Xur sells the evening before via engram. Oh wellz. Enjoying it regardless as I love being a punch bro.

Do you guys like Vigilance Wing? I have a very high level Lincoln Green. I watched a Planet Destiny video at one point that argued the Lincoln Green had the fastest kill speed of virtually any weapon in PVP, but I'm not enjoying it much because of the insanely short range. I may just infuse the Vigilance.

Vigilance is a fun weapon to use. But its ammo reserves are too low. If I miss that means I'll lose 3 or more rounds since its a 5 round burst fire weapon. I like the way the weapon looks more than the way it performs.

The Lincoln Green has a great time to kill, the problem is you have to get in close range to use it. The problem in this meta isn't the guns, just the slower speeds make movement harder. Other guns can easily outgun scouts, but getting inside that range to do it is the tough part.

What's weird about Xur is I never have had the gun he sells, but always had the armor. I get tons of armor dups but very few exotic weapons. I've bought Xur's gun every week so far.

Well bungie has killed Iron Banner's worth IMO. Looks like no specific IB weapons just gear and... no light level increase which is the biggest deal! play to collect tokens to buy gear and then what? Increasing light lvl keeps me grinding and if it isn't there neither am I. There is a limit to how many pairs shiny boots I'll play for.

There are weapons. Not sure if they are just reskinned or not, but they are there. You have to watch as the community is going full on salt mode right now.

Do you have a source on the no light level increase? That seems very odd too. If anything, Bungie has made it super easy to level up.
