Anyone still play this disaster? I haven't touched it for a few weeks now after getting back into The Division, and couldn't be happier. Bungie can f*** off.

Haven't touched it in weeks either. Tgat Dawning event was just too much.

Been playing PUBG and getting back into BF1 instead.

I've heard lots of good things about Division. I read that they stopped making the Dark Zone so central to things too (was no fun getting ganked by people high level). I'll have to try it.

Yea I played BF1 (Battlefield I'm guessing) again this weekend. Now that I have a new PC that can max the game it's nice being able to play it online and not being jittering all over the place. Might have to grab the premium pass for it while it's on sale.

You guess correctly.

Yeah, I'm really enjoying it again too.

I've seen videos from some long time Division players who have said the latest patch has the game in its best state. I'm going to re-download the game in the near future and see for myself. The biggest improvement I read about was how much more balanced the game is which encourages much more build diversity.

I came in here looking for the latest news on D2. Instead the most recent discussions are about other games. I guess that's all I need to know about the state of D2.

If you didn't like the game before then you won't like it now.

1.8 is no grand departure.. The horde mode is nice. The issue now is there is not much point playing outside one of the monthly week long world activities cause the best gear sets are classified sets and seemingly are unattainable outside the world activity.

Yeah the only times I've really fired it up is to play the Global Events so I can try and get Classifieds. 1.8 doesn't really change all that much, your still basically gonna be running Lexington, grinding for that gear...

Just finished the campaign. Not bad. Not great but no complaints besides the final boss being a bullet sponge.

The damage scaling in the game is super annoying. You play a loot game to get "better" loot, but all the enemies do is scale to whatever you have. It doesn't even make the game a challenge, just time consuming.

I jumped back in the Division after a long absence. Might try it but honestly it didn't pull me in either. I think I need a break from "loot" games. I want to play games to have fun, not collect loot.

Division has sucked me in again. Loving it.

To be fair, this is EXACTLY what people asked for. They wanted the faction rallies to be open to everyone and not "locked behind all this dlc". So what did they do? Pull out all the DLC content out of faction rallies. Exactly what the rage machine on the internet asked for.

Funny thing too, people who didn't buy the DLC are probably long gone playing something else anyway.

Bungie's only mistake was not communicating this from the start. However the entitled gamers want all new content without having to spend $20 on the game?

If not for all the whining, we'd have had new gear and faction rally would have been weeks ago.

so why cant they do 2 versions of the faction rallies? with DLC and without

So, you want them to make all new guns for the non-DLC players? They wanted faction rallies to be 100% open to everyone, and that's exactly what we got. A "special" version for DLC owners would have set the internet all into a rage again.

The DLC guns were already made and in the database (you can see them all in the API). However the entitled gamers didn't want DLC owners to have content they couldn't get because now apparently this is a thing.

The prestige raid is now empty because nobody plays it for 300 level gear now.

DLC buyers got screwed and the internet rage machine is off to the next gamer justice warrior thing.

The cooldown thing is annoying and they did a terrible job with that.

Has nothing to do with DLC ownership. They are intentionally drip feeding the season 2 weapons. The winning AR's are all you can get. Those ARs will be added to the loot ppool next time.

Basically there is no point doing FRs till the last rally of season where all loot will be in the loot table.

The event was already s*** and Bungie just made iit worse.

The prestige raid has no rewards, that is why nobody pllays it.

DLC buyers did get screwed, screwed by Bungie and their piss poor and severly lackung DLC.

You say that, but I have every confidence they'll attempt to fix it with a couple more opportunities to buy DLC and expansions. I mean, it may not fix a damn thing, but at least you'll only be out another $60 or so.

No, they aren't. There are new guns in the database, but they were all DLC only. This faction rally was scheduled weeks ago with new gear but people freaked out.

So, if they consider faction rally to be "day 1" content, they had no choice but to pull it.

You can't make 2 versions of the rally without making it look like you're still sticking it to players without DLC so what did they do? Nerf it for everyone. Their only other option is to make non DLC new content, which is probably never going to happen.

Yes they are. Bungie have stated so.

They also stated ages ago that the event loot system was going to be changed.

So please stop blaming the people who were getting f***ed over and blame the people responsable for this this s*** show, which is Bungie.

Sorry, but you hear what you want to hear. The faction rally was going to be weeks ago, and the weapons are already in the game's API.

The change came because of all the DLC "locked content" uproar. Plain and simple.

Bungie screws up because they don't communicate this. People were 100% expecting new guns and that's the problem. Bungie can't say why they pulled them, so they say it was all part of the "plan". It wasn't. The faction rally got cancelled and was supposed to happen weeks ago. The loot was ready to go, it was just all COO loot.

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/destiny-2-faction-rally-canceled-as-bungie-reverse/1100-6455587/

People whined, cried entitlement, and the faction rally got postponed and then nerfed. Bungie messes up a lot, but they never planned on having a faction rally with nothing in it.

Had nobody complained, we'd have had a 2nd faction rally with new guns.

Here's the patch notes

Time limited events – Iron Banner, Faction Rally, and The Dawning, will be made available to all players.
  • We will be postponing tomorrow's Faction Rally, to ensure all of our players can access the activity and the appropriate rewards.
  • Iron Banner and Faction Rally rewards that launched with Destiny 2 will still be accessible to all players.
  • New Seasonal Rewards that launch with Curse of Osiris, such as the new Seasonal Armor Ornaments, will require ownership of Curse of Osiris to acquire.

Why would it get nerfed when makinh all weapons available is the samr as the 3 they have now???lol.

They told us long before the DLC even released that the loot system was changing.

But yeah, I'm the one hearing what I want to. You're clueless.

And how is wanting to continue participating in the events in the game you paid for considered entitlement??? f*** that bulls*** anti consumer thinking. But apparent you are being screwed over.lolz

Not too mention that Factions and IB and Trials are all supposed to be tied to seasons, which are meant to be for everyone not just DLC buyers.

How about people who paid for content should be able to get said content?

Here's all the guns pulled right from the database.

https://gamerant.com/destiny-2-new-faction-weapons/

They are all here:

They all have the little Osiris icon though so they got pulled.

That doesn't make sense. So, as you said, people whined about being locked from the content that they had already paid for, so they changed the faction rally to only have one new gun and only a total of 4 guns by the end of the season, even though the guns were already made and there?

So Bungie has the guns already made and now just won't give them to anyone because of people's B&Ming? "Hey guys, we've got this content all made and ready to go, but because you all are a bunch of cry babies asking for more content, we're going to only give you one side arm. Had you not complained, we would have given you all the guns we've made, but we're Bungie and love screwing over our players and being anti-consumer."

After what Bungie has been doing the past several months, I don't get how anyone can defend them. This most recent batch of complaining might be a little over board, but when you look at all that Bungie has done, and how they keep saying they will do better, and yet keep pulling crap, can you blame people for being upset?

I uninstalled this game a month ago and I don't plan on playing it again. Even in a year when theyve completed the road map they've given us, Destiny 2 will be close to what Destiny one is. Hurray! If I get a Destiny itch in the next 12 months, ill just go play Destiny one.

When you cash in tokens with the vendors the loot is picked from a table of non-osiris loot and osiris loot. If you don't have the osiris DLC then you don't get loot from that pool. There is no reason that the faction vendors couldn't have worked the same way. Bungie is either just slowing progress down or being petty.

No, they couldn't keep it the same way. Giving the non-dlc players nothing new would have set the internet on fire again. The factions would have been useless to anyone without the dlc, so Bungie did the easiest thing - pulled all the loot.

Bungie should be focusing on making the end game better for those of us playing.

Maybe, but the people who didn't purchase osiris probably play very casually or were late to the party and may not have all the Faction loot. i play a few times a week and i still don't have most of the faction gear.

Of course they are casuals. Once the internet got hold of it though it blew up. People had no idea what the prestige raid even was, but they read an article on Kotaku and came running. Reddit was filled with people raging... now they are all gone. Probably playing Division or COD or whatever else they moved on to.

Giving non-dlc players a gimped faction rally would have been even worse for Bungie. You know video game news sites had the article queued up and ready to go.

So now a tiny percentage of casuals without $20 are driving their decisions.

Bungie's flaw was releasing the PC version later but the DLC at the same time for all platforms. Most console gamers had more time and were actually looking forward to a DLC pack (even casuals are maxed out easily). PC players just got the game and were just learning things and such and then suddenly they get this DLC thrown at them and they freaked out.

The old cliche "be careful what you wish for" applies here.

I thought people were pissy, because they decided to move a pre-existing part of the game behind a pay-wall?

I don't get what the big issue is. In MMO's, if you don't buy the expansion packs, you can't access the new zones/raids or get the new gear/reach the new level, and that model has worked for decades.

Is that not what's happening here?

It is kind of shifty how they're hiding the exp/token grind differentials. Just be up front. "You can only earn blah blah tokens a week" or "you can only access this raid once a day" etc.

Interesting tweet. I think it shows the problem in Destiny since day 1 - the engine is tough to work with.

With D2 they put a lot more people on it, but it isn't surprising the game runs into the exact same issues as before.
