I would like to give it another go when I have time. I played D1 awhile back on 360 and liked what I played at the time.

All the better stuff came after the first expansion The Taken King. The Age of Triumps update late year 3 was also a very big thing...all raids updated, awesome ornaments, etc.

Now mind you this is my first Destiny game, and I understand there are some features missing that were in the the first game, but I think the games excellent. I think these days gamers are alittle entitled and expect far too much out of games. People want perfect games but will scoff at 4 year development times and release delays. You cant have it both ways.

The "problem" with Destiny is Bungie can't decide what kind of a game it should be. I put problem in quotes because many of us will put hundreds if not thousands of hours into it. D2 launched as a casual friendly game, now with Warmind it is back to a very hardcore grind. We have two extremes. They spend way too much time listening to the half a million people on the DTG subreddit and what comes out is a game that makes everyone a little disappointed. It tries to please way too big an audience.

That said too the community is some of the most whiny, entitled people you will meet in gaming. They've got this severe case of D1 nostalgia, even though every single one of them blasted D1 all the time too.

Ultimately though, I have 156 hours into a single D2 character (and that's probably low), so that tells you a lot about the game. Yet I could still write huge paragraphs about what the game does that makes me angry and frustrated.

I bought the season pass lastnight.
I thought of getting the Destiny 1 collection before I bought D2, and I know there is a lot more content in it, but I'm a graphics who're and the comparison videos I watched show a huge upgrade in graphics in D2.
I'm happy with the purchases, which couldn't be said for Sea of Thieves which I had refunded and only play on game pass now.

Yeah the graphics got a nice update.

Just a warning - heroic strikes are bugged and don't give you credit towards the milestone. Since they are now 350 they take a long time to get through and aren't really worth it as they only give 340 engrams at max (even though the activity itself is 350)

Well Escalation protocol is a 380 event and only drops 340 gear too

What they have done is rendered everything irrelevant. Lost Sectors, crucible, Heroic Adventures, Heroic Strikes and Escalation Protocol all drop 340 soft cap gear. So only Trials of the Nine(I think) and raids will increase level after the tiny increase you get from power milestones..milestones that are not a guarenteed increase anymore.

It is incredibly stupid. You basically hit the soft cap right away. I'm pretty much done with the game until next week's reset. The only thing I can do now is grind exotics which seems like those drops got nerfed badly too.

There's really no point in me firing up the game again until Tuesday.

I don't think this is what the casual or hardcore wanted, because I'm pretty sure everyone is already done playing.

PUBG here I come. Got a chicken dinner my first try yesterday on the old map. :)

Yep. I honestly can't be asked anymore. Grinding for power level which is no more than a content gate mechanic is just boring. It adds nothing to the game at all.

Exotic catalysts for the most part are underwhelming and result in boring stat boosts.

I have seen the weapons coming to Iron Banner and Faction Rally and they are still the same old boring crap. Nothing all that interesting at all and most seem to come with the crap holstered perk.

I'm not spending another £40 in September to get what should have come ages ago. So yeah, think I am done with Destiny.

I'm dying to get another Sunshot hand cannon so I can apply the Silver Bullet skin. Freaking sah-weeeet.

Finished the base game campaign tonight. The cinema where the guardians all get together to launch an offensive on the city is amazing and really beautifully done.
On another note, I dont think ive ever seen so many people mentioned in post game credits. Thousands of people!

I’ve started the warmind story missions but some are level locked. What’s the fastest way to gear up so I play the story missions?

So I'm totally confused as to what to do after the soft cap. The people on reddit seem to have no clue the difference between milestones and drops.

Does the nightfall drop anything above 340 once you complete your one weekly milestone? IE is there a point to running it more than just once on a character? Same with the raid?

There isn't that much you can do. It seems the Raids are the best way forward because you have 3 of them and a prestige mode too. Plus you can get plenty of exotics too.

Have no clue on Nightfall. Haven't even done it this week.

I know you can get one powerful engram from the nightfall milestone (and easy too obviously). Supposedly you can then run prestige nightfall once per character and get another (haven't tested that).

Do the raids drop exotics now? I'm thinking they stealth nerfed exotic drops. I have yet to see one new one let alone a masterwork.

Nightfall and Prestige Nightfall are seperate activities. so yeah, you will get hard capped gear from both.

Exotics supposedly still drop regularly in the raids.

You know Exotics don't drop as Masterworks, right? You have to turn them in to masterworks by doing certain activities/goals. Like Vigilance Wing requires you to get wins in the crucible for it to randomly drop the Masterwork Catalyst, which once equipped will give you a task to complete in order to unlock another perk(Full Auto for Vig Wing) or stat boosts like the Crimsons +20 range.

Thanks, I'm still totally confused with this. Granted I've had so little time to play this I just hit the soft cap the other day.

All I know is lowbies need to stop triggering escalation protocol. I'm hearing you can't even touch it until 370.

I did one last night. By accident. I’m only 342. It was hard and I had about 4 or 5 others join it. There is a mission to unlock some weapon where you need to beat it 5 times I think.

Don't even think about escalation protocol until you are at least 370. With the timer on in there's just no way to kill everything in time. As more people jump in I think it just spawns more enemies. So, it isn't like other activities that you can just stack people.

They also tweaked the damage so enemies more powerful than you take a lot less damage. It takes me 2-3 head shots to drop a single thrall.

Yeah I got lucky when I completed it that one time. Won’t be trying it again any time soon.

It is just the end bosses. I am 350+ and I can take out everything just fine, but when it comes to the ogre at the end of wave 1 people just can't do enough damage. It starts of well, but once supers, javelin and heavy run out the health bar barely depletes.

Freaking love this game! The levels in Osiaris expansion are beautiful.
My power lever is 340 as of tonight. Got this bird looking helmet that turns golden gun super into a one hitter quitter. Its nice being able to take out mini bosses with a single shot.

6 weeks later I finally got Crimson today. It's pretty bada$$ and I'm excited to use it. Only downfall is I can't use Graviton Lance at the same time so I'll have to find a good legendary auto rifle or scout rifle to pair with it.
