So... played this a couple of hours today...gunplay is pretty great... prob best on console (halo might be better because of higher fps). The environments are worse than first game though. Will finish the story and see how much more I'll do.

Yeah honestly I'm having some fairly big buyers regret. This isn't a grind, it is a very slow grip of very little content.

I sort of assumed I had a lot more to unlock, but then I look at my collections and there's not that much left.

I mean, I'll still play and do the milestones and wait for RNG to bless me with new stuff, but I don't feel sucked in to this. I honestly enjoyed Warmind more. Maybe I'm just burnt out on the game (feel very much like I am). I find myself playing other games a ton more lately. I don't mean to bash it, I'm just not feeling it.

Shouldn't have buyers remorse, the little loot issue has been a thing since D1. Until they change their s***ty engine the issue will persist.

I got a powerful drop last night that was lower than my light level. Is this normal?

I have got 4 powerful drops and a prime engram today and not a single one raised my power level. Annoying as f***. All of them were 3 levels below the gear in the slot they belonged to.

Probably, yes. Powerful engrams might only drop a +1 your current overall power level (once you hit 520 I think).

So in theory that item could have helped you, had it fallen in the right slot. However chances are it lands in a slot you already have something higher, so there's no guarantee you gain anything.

In the past they'd usually keep powerful engrams 3-5 points higher, so this didn't happen as much (until you hit max). Now it happens all the time.

The grind from 520 - 600 is going to be huge. Now that I'm 523 I'm hoping to get 530 with my weeklys this week, but that might not even happen. A little bad luck on the drops and you are screwed.

Supposedly it even slows down more over 560.

I think they are going to get rid of the Masterwork core requirement for infusion. Either that or give us a reliable way to farm them.

Got my first year two exotic yesterday.

I'm just burnt out on the game already. 4 powerful engrams, only gained 1 point. I've got 80 more power levels to go? That's going to take me a year+ right now.

There's a massive grind, but no reward. Everything I get drops 15-20 points below my light. I've already done everything except the raid.

This game is going to be empty in a month. The hardcore crowd is going to grind like crazy, raid a bunch, then they will be done and on to something else. The rest of us will just get bored of the lack of rewards.

That's weird, it's been a pretty steady climb for me. I'm at 538 right now.

Every drop I get comes in sets of 2-3. Today it was my energy slot. 4 weapons in a row there. Three of them are the Right Side of Wrong pulse rifle.

I swear it doesn't feel random, it is like they have a weapon of the day and that's what you get that day.

I think I just need a week or two break. It is funny though, I purposely skipped all that stuff before the Forsaken launch.

They really do need to tweak the economy and drop rates.

It also cheeses me off that if there's a bug in our favor, it gets fixed immediately with an emergency hotfix, but if it is something like bugged powerful engrams, "they'll investigate".

Bungie has turned me into one of those angry, old Bungie haters somehow. :)

Most people already probably know this too, but the way to beat the infusion economy is to only infuse duplicate items. If you infuse the exact same armor piece or weapon into itself, it only costs 5000 glimmer. No planetary mats or mw cores. Just glimmer. It has to be the exact same item infusing into itself though.

So if you get a higher level something, check your inventor for a better roll on the same piece.

I'm guessing that's what they intended with they high infusion costs.

Also, there's a player who's 570 who has zero new exotics.

The last thing I want them to do is change the drop rate so exotics are no surprise when they drop. I remember when Diablo 3 ruined their game by caving into the whiners and legendaries started dropping all of the time, hope it doesn't happen here.

I love when the powerful gear I get is the same as what I want to infuse. Masterworks cores are a pain in the ass.

I don't know why people just can't accept that they are super rare now. Not everybody has to have everything in the game.

It cheapens the feeling of having something that is supposedly unique when everybody else has the same thing.

I've accepted that I'll never have all the loot. But that chance, no matter how small that something great might drop is what keeps me playing.

The drop rate is stupid. End of.

Most of the exotics are crap anyway.

Hit 550 today...time to try the raid.

Also got a nice Tiger Sp[ite drop. It has High Impact Reserves and Kill Clip.:hehe:

There's not enough loot for this kind of grind. Warmind seemed actually better. There was more to do, and still high end stuff to chase. NF loot, EP loot, Whisper quest.

I'm fine with a grind, but they need to give us a bite of the cookie along the way.

I also feel like they are going to improve things, so there's no point in playing this way.

There's just too many good games coming out this fall.

I guess there's sort of a rut between 520-540 (I'm 525). People are saying a lot of people hit that.

It is like I'm just not quite high level enough to do what I need to do.

It amazes me how people play this game 100 hours a week untill they burn out on it and then bitch that the game has no content.
It's no wonder Bungle gained a reputation in previous years for not engaging their fans. Its because there's just no pleasing some people. Especially the entitled gaming community. It's just a no win situation for them no matter what they do.

Yeah? How about no. They just charged us $40-100 for one season of the game. Forgive us if we actually wanted some damn content in the game.

If this were a $20 DLC I would be fine with it. This was $40 alone and we have been denied many things we bought.

So, I will spend my money and share my opinion, thank you very much.

The Destiny community complained that it was too easy to collect everything and they didn't have anything to chase after a few weeks. So your gripe is Bungle giving the community what they asked for? :txbconfused:

Let me slow it down for you... there's no loot. Destiny is a loot game and there's no loot. I praised them up and down for Warmind, but this is garbage.

Destiny will never get a penny from me again.

I wish their loot system wise wider in scope. It would be cool to have a gun/equipment that very few others have. Would make it more unique.

You misunderstood the complaint. The complaint was about fixed rolls.

I been finding nonstop new loot.
Inspect me bro

Funny thing is, you can either laugh at this and point to collections as a reason for that laughter, or you could just say it proves Kerosene's point about drip feeding so little content.

Ever since reaching the Dreaming City, dipping the Raid chests and Iron Banner... I been satisfied.
It didn't start this way and the reward system with the tower vendors is a mess as is the odd some times lower light drops BUT I am
definitely starting to get the type of content i want and this is without counting the DC changes and added strikes(man Corruption is such a good one)

I look at my collections screen now and there's not a lot I don't have.

All I know is, I loved Warmind. I thought it got everything back on track. Not perfect, but a huge step in the right direction. Things like the low soft cap were alarming.

Now the game just feels empty. Maybe I'm just burnt out on Destiny. Funny thing is though I skipped all that stuff the months before Forsaken. I never got past the green armor. I played other games and took a much needed break.

This just feels.... wrong. Maybe it is just me. It is rare that Menance and I agree on Destiny so maybe I changed? I'm just awake now to all the artificial grind. It feels like a carnival game that is rigged against the player.

The time gating is getting really bad too. Someone on reddit was asking about the bow that sees through walls (the one they showed so much of when they were selling us Forsaken) and someone said "that isn't available yet". Really?

For $40 I'm just expecting a lot more. That's 2/3 a new game.
