Destiny 3 - "Payback" ?

Didn’t they, Bungie, come out and say they are no longer working on 3 and just making some big final chapter? Unless this is Sony’s doing dun dun dunnnnnnn jpeg

That and its come across from many of their dev heads, current and gone, that they’re kinda tired of making sequels.
Does anybody care? Lol. D2 was a f***ing disaster.
They've never denied it, and pretty much left it open. After the Final Shape DLC, D2 is only getting scaled back content (instead of 3 month seasons, 4 month chapters). So they are definitely pulling back on D2.
A Destiny 3 is a pretty safe bet, especially considering how much Sony paid for Bungie. I don't think they are really going "all in" on Marathon.
I feel like there was an interview where they said they were excited on their next new project that wasn’t marathon or destiny, as the core/main Bungie team is leaving Destiny for it. Whilst newer devs and some along with a small batch of seasoned devs are surfing aiding. I could be wrong, but in think one of the core founders, who’s name escapes me at the moment, said they’re working on two or three new ip…he’s the guy that started at Bungie, left after Destiny and did some stuff with Xbox left back to Bungie then EA became a head at a new studio and then left them. He’s been adamant/vocal about wanting to work with 343, both directly and not with them halos story and something new like odst
There's something called "Matter" that might be a new IP, or just a code word for Destiny.
From what I remember, there's a smaller new IP that we know little about coming too. Something more like a party game type of thing.
Basically what the Bungie folks may have said might be off the table anyway. Sony is looking for revenue from them after the purchase.
