The spaces between realities!

If you don't want to watch, this is the summary.

GT Sport wins by a hair.

They both are amazing looking games. With that said PD has always had a superior lighting engine that seems to manifest itself in every one of their games.

Either way my impression from this is that you can't go wrong with either game, but content wise Forza has the edge. Consensus seems to be that GT Sport is the better looking game, but Forza wins on content.

GT wins. The sense of speed is the worst thing so far in GT for me. I'm used to forza and this seems really slow.

And for those that didn't watch they used the PC version of Forza running at 4K not the Xbox One version, so this is comparable to the One X version vs the Pro.

They should have used base ps4 vs Xbox one. It's just a way to give X1X a nod with the resolution superiority.

These types of comparisons should be both PS4 vs X1 and PS4 Pro vs X1X

both have pros and cons.

GT sport:
better details on cars inside and out, lighting and car modules.

Forza 7:
higher res/sharper image, textures and more track details.

Seems like the only real advantage for Forza is mainly resolution, the higher end textures don't do a whole lot for a racing game when you are moving so fast. When you stop and investigate things yeah they'll stand out more but during gameplay I don't think they do much, especially when you see those awful looking trees and people in some areas.

Being that they compared the PC version of Forza running at native 4K etc it's probably the best version of Forza 7 that'll be available, the fact that the Pro version of GT stands up so well and even surpasses F7 in many areas while being on weaker hardware is a nice win for PD. Honestly I wouldn't buy either of these games, this type of racing doesn't interest me but I am surprised that GTS does so well in this comparison.

To me it is a classic case in point of 'you can have the power, but without the ability to exploit it to its full potential'
No knock against Turn 10. Both games look good.

Everybody knows a high end PC or the Xbox One X is superior to the PS4 Pro, but the artistic wizardry afoot at PD can surpass technical deficiencies.

It reminds me of why I thought Shadow of the Colossus was such a visual masterpiece. The little details stand out.
PD attention to absolute detail has NEVER been surpassed IMHO.

Forza is a great franchise however the visuals haven’t moved a ton this gen outside of the resolution. I’m hoping they give the developers an extra year and a full 3 year cycle before the next one. GT is better looking however the campaign, AI, dynamic weather and overall content makes Forza a better overall franchise today.

True, I'm sure PD being allowed to take the time they need for development helps rather than being on what is basically a mass produced bi-annual release cycle.

It should be mentioned that Forza does have dynamic weather and more damage modeling.

GTS does look very, very nice. Just the screens when loading are amazing. I can't wait for Forza on Xbox X too. I'm amazed by F7's visuals just on my plain launch X1.

It is a great time to own two consoles and be a driving fan :)

Why? Seems like a no brainer. GT has always had great materials and lighting models, forza hasn't. A 10TF gpu won't help forza there.

Car graphics: GTS
Other graphics, content, online, etc...: Forza 7

DF does some weird comparisons though. It should really be PS4 vs. X1, or PS4 Pro vs X1X.

GT looks great! Better than Forza. I didn't expect that. Good on PD. Forza wraps up everything else though.
The games in motion probably are the same 60 fps gaming, but based on images, GT looks better. The colour pallette looks better like it's more realistic colours. Forza (on a technical level) might be fine, but the colours look so bright on purpose.

The dynamic weather is something that has to be taken into account, then again I believe GTS has weather options available as well they just aren't dynamic. Either way people who like sim racers seem to have a good choice on either console, now if someone would just bring back Burnout I'd be happy.

You just can't top PD in the lighting model. It really is an important ability. I'm playing MAD Max right now, and it's fantastic light model has me constantly enthralled.

It comes at a big cost though. Like PS2 car models on PS3, or a much smaller game like GT:S.

Then again Forza 7 is the worst quality Forza ever...and by a massive margin. Bugs, glitches, crashes. Not what one expects from T10.

There is talk of fog and other conditions, but in the actual game right now in GTS all I've seen is cloudy vs sunny and a fixed time of day.

Supposedly it is coming, but really weather is not in GTS at launch.

Never a crash in Forza 7 for me. Runs flawless.

GTS does have better looking car models. But GTS also has substantially less going on in the background. Less cars on the track, less textures and assets, less custom liveries on the cars, no real time tire walls, no realtime weather, no realtime day night change, less damage physics, no rewind resources, lower resolution, more frame rate drops...

I love how GT continues to show the back seat and trunk of the car when looking back in cockpit view. Though it's not in every car :(

I'm not touching Forza 7 until X1X comes out so I think the comparison is premature.

The comparison video is using the PC version running at native 4K and some things are likely running at higher settings than the One X will, the comparison if anything is slanted towards F7 more than it should be. I could be wrong but in the video they said some things are running at 60 fps like reflections while on the X1X version they'll be 30 fps.

No, he said F7 reflections were 30, and GT had some at 60 and some at like 20. I'm a bit surprised he didn't mention how cruddy the GT reflections look, though. Very pixelated.
