Does anyone here use an HDMI splitter/amplifier?

I'm needing to split an HDMI signal coming from my Hopper DVR to my main TV and to another TV using a 50' cable. I've already used the component cable output to a TV in a different room as well. I'm too cheap to pay for the Joey boxes in each room, so I was wondering if these cheap splitter/amplifiers actually work.

I haven't personally, though, my friend has one on his TV. It seems to work pretty good, he splits his XB1/360 and cable. The pic looks good to me and he hasn't had any problem with the unit. I think he bought it on Newegg.

I use one for splitting the cable between my receiver and X1.
Here's the one I use:

Works great. Do note that mine has to be plugged into a power outlet to work.

That's typically the style that's found on ebay the most....not that particular brand, but the exact same style overall and half the price.

Lol...$15. I just wanted something more than local HDTV channels running to a 32" in the stove room for the winter. I already gave up on the idea and just put a modded OG xbox in there to pass the time.
