Official Thread Dragon Ball Fighters Z

Arcys also anounced Blazblue Tag Battle which is a crossover between Blazblue, Under Night In Birth and Persona 4 Arena.

Guilty Gear Xrd, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Blazblue Cross Tag Battle revealed and Persona 5 Arena is rumored to be coming as well.

The company is killing it with awesome fighting games, like Capcom was back in the early 2000s.

Damn, DBZ is using UE4? Nice to see how versatile the engine is. I love that this is a thing! Best cell shading ever acheived (next to Guilty Gear, of course) these guys are amazing at this!

I wonder why they just didn't make SSJ Blue part of Goku's and Vegita's transformation. SSJ Blue is their ultimate form so I wonder why anyone would use the other characters that don't hit that max level of power. I guess for this game they could just make it so the different forms have different abilities/moves but are not significantly stronger so there's no advantage.

Who ever else they add I hope they don't add Goku Black (Zamasu). I hated the reveal on how he got to use Goku's body. Although his power set is really different from his host's I didn't really care for that storyline.

The Ginyu Force should definitely be in this game.

Bump because Beta invites have been sent out and also some people in the Xbox Insiders group are being added as the days go on. I just got in, downloading now.

For the Xbox Insider download, to signing up required. Just go to the Insider Hub and select join. You'll then get to download the game.

Wow. I'm not a DBZ fan, and I don't like fighting games, but that looks awesome.

Just saw this video posted over on gaf. It's even better, haha.

Great matches

Tien w/ Chiaotzu, Yamcha and a new Android 21 have been confirmed.

The game is shaping up to be a day 1 fighter, I'm willing to pay 50 euros for.

It's like the spiritual successor to Marvel vs Capcom 2! Not the crappy sequels!

I'm torn with this game. Great presentation, interesting fighting controls, but it's a button masher's dream, and 'easy.' It's easy for novices to do combos and big moves with the single button controls, so it makes the game much more approachable for younger gamers. At the same time, I think it levels the playing field with more experienced gamers because of that. I need to play it a bit more. Also, there's almost too much going on sometimes and it can detract from the experience.

I didn't pre-order, but I'm getting it on the 26th. From what I've seen from beta vids, yes, it's easy to get into and do some easy combos, but it's also clear casuals are going to be destroyed by people that know what they're doing. The autocombo system was like that in Persona Arena too. Once the manual combos, resets and mix-ups come into play the game reaches a whole new level. I skipped MVCI, so I'm really hungry to sink my teeth into a new fighter.

Who else is getting this?

If the online from the beta is indicative of how the game is going to run then, I'm 100% out. Couldn't get into any match online. Hell I could barely get into any lobbies.

I DESTROYED dudes for using auto combos and mindlessly rushing me. Just down + heavy rush attacks. If they abuse auto combos it means no mixup to their strings. EASY win.

If you're getting blown up by the auto combos and pursuits in Dragon Ball Fighter Z, you're just bad at the game and haven't learned it yet. A lot of you casually play fighting games and spread false info. I normally let it slide but this time I couldn't.

Me personally I love all the chaos on screen.

Not false info. The game is a button masher, more than Killer Instinct. There will be more cheap wins in this game than any other fighting game to date. Having said that, anytime you get comfortable with a fighting game, newbs will be ripe for the picking. It doesn't change the fact that the game is a button masher.

I don't like the chaos. I'll get used to it, but I don't like it.

How does the auto combo work in relation to KI? Can you still do manuals like in KI or not? Either way not sure I care enough to play this game. Not a DBZ fan and I just got back into SF5 with the Arcade Edition launch. Never spent much time with KI Season 3 either so I'd probably just go back to that as well.

If you are good at DBFZ you won't have any trouble against button mashers. The same as Killer Instinct or any fighting game.... No fighter is a buttons really. It's just something people say when their bad at fighting games. If anything making a fighter accessible is even worse for a rookie player versus skilled players.
