I don't know about you guys but I thought Driveclub looked promising from the initial showing in February but then the demo's rolled out in E3 and most people we're nonplussed or disappointed, even though the build was really old it didn't generate much buzz. Then the game got delayed which was a risk from Sony launching with a weaker launch line-up but after the delay the game has been looking better and better, here are a few GIFs:

Can't wait for this. I've got NFS: Rivals and soon GT6 to tide me over but I want this now.

It looks awesome. I knew Evolution would turn the project around.

It actually looks like what I want from the Need For Speed franchise. Racing in beautiful scenic areas with out the cops.

Looks great, would like 60 FPS though. Based on the latest footage they have excellent lighting and AA, unlike the pre-launch videos.

Both Forza 5 replay mode and DriveClub gameplay mode are 1080p 30 fps, so those two modes should be comparable. Although being a cutscene, Forza 5 replay mode doesn't have gameplay things to worry about when rendering.

Console warrior, you should be comparing this to Need for Speed imo.

But for the record, as good as Forza 5 looks, this does look better in gifs.

dithered shadows kind of killed it for me. Looks great all around outside of that. And it has a cockpit view, unlike Need for Speed *cough cough.

Is this a sim racer or arcade? I always felt like I couldn't play any racer outside of Forza but damn Asphalt 8 is fun as fawk and would love to see a game like that on consoles.

I just hope it's sharper than what I say at PAX back in August. The game looked amazing in little GIF form back then too, but when I saw it in person it looked really muddled.. the "wow" factor was gone.

3rd gif down from the OP.....noticed broken glass on drivers side window.
Nice touch.

In gif form it looks better than Forza5.....though I haven't played either so that may change.

It was stated those builds of the game we're really old, like 30% of the game was done. Since then they have upgrades the graphics and game immensely. Evolution apparently have an unorthodox development cycle where their games in the last few months get major graphical improvements.

Yeah but I'm talking about comparing the game to GIFs that had been around for months before PAX.

They just need to pull off increasing the detail/resolution to make it really shine like the GIFS do.

The game is known for jaggies and unstable framerate. I hope they get it fixed before launch.

It will look a lot better when it launches than it did back in August or whenever. Just waiting for a new HQ gamersyde video.

The animations of the arms spinning the wheel look extremely awkward. But it's free-to-play so no room to really complain.

Weather has always been discussed as something they may add in later (which likely means it won't happen) time of day changes are part of the game though.
