Famitsu first X1/PS4 head to head comparison livestream TODAY! (Wed)

Launch games won't show us anything. There will be parity early as developers work to get their heads around the new machines. If there are differences we won't see them until the second wave of games or in first party showings that aren't rushed for a launch window.

i would even go as far as saying no true potential till year 3 of release...

Hardly a comparison at all. DC vs F5 would have been on better terms, or even a multiplat.

Those were the only games Sony and MS would allow so you'd have to take that up with them.

Would love to see a multiplatform game running on each console. Hell I would love to see ANY of the multiplatform games running on XBO period. =\

I'd have to think Forza would be much more impressive looking. I mean that game is really about the graphics.

IMO, multiplats are the only instance where consoles can be compared. Otherwise, it is 1st party devs against 1st party dev, not console vs. console.

And even then, not so much. Not always is a multiplat game being better on one platform mean that the platform is indeed better.
For example, a game like CoD tends to be better on 360, yet the games is not demanding at all. Meanwhile, a technically and visually demanding game like BF3 was better on PS3.

Honestly, the differences in power between the 2 are so minute in the grand scheme of things, that it really doesn't matter. All the difference does is provide fodder for fanboy arguments.

Yeah I feel ya there, not seeing ANY multiplats on X1 is weird. I can see MS picking F5 to show off..it's pretty impressive..but Sony picking Knack? that's just silly imo, KZ:SF would have been a better pick if they wanted to try and show off any potential

But does Japan really give a crap about KZ or shooters in general? Knack at least is a throwback to platformers like Crash (or, heck, a reskinned Crash almost) and that might be a little more popular for that audience.

I guess, but do they really give a crap about racers either?

I think they mainly just compared the looks of the machines.
I read at Neogaf that they weren't allowed to take direct feed capture or turn on the Xbox One - they had to go to MS booth in order to get offscreen footage from Forza, while they had direct feed from Knack. :-/

20 mins before it kicks off, right?

My fingers are crossed that Sony brings their expert translators!!

Probably at least a little more than shooters. Did a quick search and saw headlines that GT5 helped double PS3 sales in Japan, and then did some searching on one of those sites that lists games sales and breaks down by region. Don't know how accurate the numbers are, but they have GT5 selling 800k in Japan, while Killzone 3 is under 100k.
