Forza Motorsport 7

Damn, I just watched that 10 minute gameplay vid. Looks friggin' stupendous! The image quality is immaculate! I am so happy the finally got around to expressing the vibration. Feels so much more visceral!

It really does look a generation better than FM6. Crazy.

I also like the more realistic color pallet while still keeping a very produced look. Day one!

Hey Frozbot, in that high quality video, could you tell if the shadow draw-in is complete fixed from the previous versions? It looks like it has been. But I've only watched clips on my phone.

I'm talking about the shadows along the inside of the track walls or any other shadow quality settings you could comment on. Thanks.

The sub surface scattering is so nice. I like how background structures reflect differently in different depths of the water on the track.

The only question is do I buy Forza right away and play it on X1 until Scorpio comes out, or do I force myself to wait?

I've already pre-ordered the ultimate edition and I'll play it when it's released. :hehe: and even more when X is released.

I'll see what I can see. I didn't notice before. I did notice the big improvement in the particle lightning, though. The spray off the tires is much improved.

Anyone else still hoping for an animated pit crew?

I saw a vid, ar12 I think, the Canadian kid, where he ask two of the guys from turn 10 but they kinda get distracted n evade a real answer.

Gamersyde uploaded HDR footage of Forza 7, So if you have a HDR screen check it out. Looks awesome.

Mother of god.

Anyone with a 4k/HDR set needs to see these. Especially the second one with the weather effects. The 4k streams were nice and all, but this is what you want to see. This is as close as you'll get to having an Xbox One X in your living room until launch.

SDR, literally don't bother downloading as it'll look busted.

So I have a 4K/HDR TV, an Xbox One S and a PS Pro hooked up to it. But I don't think I can download files on either system to watch the video in HDR on either system. I have a new Macbook Pro w/Touchbar, but no way to "push" the video to the TV.

Xbox has a media player. Download the video to a flash drive and hook it up to your Xbox S. Should work.

Why can't the PS4 Pro download 4k video files?

PS4 apparently won't even play the file at all, so I wouldn't bother trying that way.

Download the two videos, then throw them on a USB. Plug the USB into either your Xbox One or straight into the TV.

If you use your Xbox One, to play the files open the Movies and TV app, then switch it to Personal section, from there you should see your USB, select it and play the files.

You can't cast the files. They are way too big to properly stream, you'll be buffering every 3 seconds for 5-10 seconds.

The second video with the changing weather is a real treat.

You know what, the idea of plugging DIRECTLY into the TV would be the easiest. I wonder if my TV has that feature. It's a new Smart TV, so I guess I should try that. On Xbox would be cool, but this would be easiest.

It is more than a little awesome that our screens are too old to even allow us to see the full details on these videos. I still will stop in Horizon 3 and just look around and still be amazed (and I'm only on a launch X1).

I'll have to try to get these up directly on my TV.

So I watched both from a USB on the Lower Tier 4k LG HDR TV I have. Love the clarity! Lots to take in. I will say that on this TV, the HDR doesn't pop like it does when I play Forza Horizon 3. Granted, I play FH3 on my KS8500, which I am picking up from "storage" tonight.

I fully plan on running the vids again on that TV to see how it looks there. Of course, the Vid may not fully represent the final product either. At any rate, I expect a minimum of FH3 quality HDR for this game.

Forza 7 Vs GT Sport Video Compares Xbox One X Vs PS4 Pro Graphics | One Angry Gamer
(Last Updated On: June 22, 2017)

Two and a half minutes worth of footage comparing Forza Motorsport 7 and Gran Turismo Sport. Both games were on display during E3 2017, and both games were supposed to be representing the pinnacle of processing power from Microsoft and Sony’s mid-gen refresh consoles.

The YouTube outlet Madz Gaming compiled the two games.

The first thing you’ll notice is that the sounds are vastly different between the two games. Gran Turismo Sport supposedly has completely overhauled audio design for the cars, but they sound extremely soft in the clips above.

Additionally, the physics – and I didn’t think I would say this – but Forza Motorport 7 completely trounces Gran Turismo Sport in the physics department. The slight rattle of the spoiler and wings at high speeds, the rock of the body frame from the g-force during sharp turns, and the aerodynamics of the vehicles absolutely stood out in Forza 7.

In Gran Turismo Sport the cars are stilted and boxy, and there’s practically no weight distribution during turns or shunts, which completely breaks the racing immersion.

A second video of Gran Turismo Sport continues to show the same problems from the first video. Stilted physics, static environments, practically no environmental ambiance, and low quality dust kick-up. Check it out below.

Graphically there’s almost really no comparison.

The ambient occlusion is more pronounced in Forza Motorsport 7. There are denser shadows in Forza Motorsport 7. The physics are more dynamic in Forza Motorsport 7. The sound is surprisingly clear and very realistic in Forza Motorsport 7.
The whole thing is just completely weighed in favor of Microsoft’s Xbox One X and Forza Motorsport 7.

Polyphony Digital looks like they’re just out of their league this time around, but I suspect some part of that may be due to limiting Gran Turismo Sport to run within the confines of the PlayStation VR headset.

It looks like Xbox One X fans will be in for a real treat when the game launches on October 3rd, 2017.

The sound thing seemed dumb to me. So GT needs you to bump up the volume a liitle, other than it seemed fine and vastly improved over previous iterations.

As for visuals, even in a you tube vid on a 1080p screen Forza 7 looks like a signifant step up to GT. That gap will only widen when playing yourself on a good 4K HDR screen.

physics...who knows. What is said here is kind of wrthless and doesn't touch on too much that really matters other than weight transfer

The difference is staggering. Forza 7 looks incredible.

To think that some day we will be playing a GTA game where driving looks similar to Forza 7.

It might be 5 years away, but that day will come.
