Forza Motorsport 7

Very weird, although Turn 10 has confirmed nothing so far (but them being quiet on it is not good).

Makes zero sense. If Toyota pulled a licensing thing why would race cars still be in (unless that's a deal with the series?)

Screw Toyota if they did pull out. They should be spending all their time trying to finish Le Mans next year. Hey Toyota, everyone else dropped out, so you have a chance at winning next year!
Turn 10 didn't confirm, but Microsoft did.

MS acctually help/partner Toyota with their racing stuff, can't rember the details, so maybe that is why their motorsport stuff is still in.

I'm sure that Sony just told the executives that if they partner with the foreign company, they'll disable the PSN accounts for the executives' children. #ConsoleSamarai

Come on. Toyota better not have pulled out, that would be their mistake. What a slap in the face to Turn 10.

Cool to see Maple Valley and Mugello come back, but a tad bit heartbroken over the lack of any new tracks other than Dubai.

Dang it Honda, let your tracks be in games again.

Maple Valley, an original track, is the most requested track. I can't wait to see it in native 4K.

Turn 10 Explains Forza Motorsport 7’s Audiovisual Enhancements, Including One Only for XB1X

Forza7_OnBoardInTheRace_4K-740x416.jpg

Bill Giese, Creative Director at Turn 10, explained in an interview with Official Xbox Magazine (OXM) UK (September 2017, issue #154) that Forza Motorsport 7 will feature dynamic image-based lighting (like in Playground’s Forza Horizon 3) on all platforms as well as dynamic HDR skies (again, like in Forza Horizon 3) on Xbox One S and Xbox One X.

However, there is one technical feature that will be only available on Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox One X console (as well as on Windows 10 PC, in all likelihood). That’s dynamic cube mapping which, according to Giese, will help “better seat the cars in the world”.

Dynamic cube maps have six different 2-D images (textures), one for each side of a cube map texture, instead of just one like with static cube maps. What’s interesting to note is that rendering dynamic cube maps automatically means rendering the scene six times for each frame, not counting the main frame render. As a result, this technique requires a lot of power, which explains why it will not be available on less powerful Xbox One devices.

Forza Motorsport 7 also packs additional graphics enhancements across the board such as improved particle effects and ambient occlusion techniques as well as increased grass density, but Turn 10 also took great care of the game’s audio. Giese said:We want players to see, hear and feel the explosive power of motorsport. For all 700 cars the instrumentation clusters are going to rattle, windshield wipers and mirrors vibrate – it’s that feeling of the car at its peak. We’ve overhauled the audio for our driveline flex, so you can hear the car tearing itself apart. It can be scary, but it feels more alive and grounded than before.Forza Motorsport 7 is due to launch on October 3rd for the Xbox One family of devices and Windows 10 PC, with full cross-buy and cross-play functionality. It’s squeezed right in the middle of strong competitors such as Slightly Mad’s Project CARS 2, due to launch on September 22nd, and Polyphony’s GT Sport due for release on October 17th in North America and 18th in Europe.

One thing is for sure, it will be a nice Fall for fans of racing games.

I know, I'm in the same boat. Right now I say I'll wait, but once the game drops that is going to be really hard. I'm really going to try to wait and make it an X1X "launch" game for me.

Nah. It will be awesome to be used to the weaker version first. Then one day, you pop it into they new machine, and BLAMMO! It's like a whole new experience!

My worry is that in a month I can play a lot of the single player. Of course there's still tons to do but I want to enjoy most of it in 4k.

The other issue is I can't think of too many other games that are going to be my go-to launch title.

They will have an X1X bundle. Just buy that.

Dude, imagine how many bundles there'll be this year, from minecraft to assigns creed for both Xbox S and X. Hoping there'll some cool colours as well.

My guess, at least eight.
Official ones, not many...for new games atleast. I can see them having a variety of bundles for older titles, like a Halo+Gears bundle.

NEWI'm really not trying to cross post, but....

Forza Motorsport 7 in 4K will need a 1080 or Vega 64 to run smoothly

Why it matters to you

Forza Motorsport 7 will be pretty, but you won't need a monster system just to be able to play it.

Forza Motorsport 7 will require a hefty PC to run at ultra settings at 4K resolution, with Turn 10 recommending top-of-the-line graphics cards and processors for that level of detail. But if you can’t afford the latest and greatest hardware, don’t fret, the game will be compatible with a variety of different systems, even running at 720p on systems using on board graphics.

The Forza games have a history of stunning graphics and the upcoming Forza Motorsport 7 is no exception. If you want to run it at full tilt you will need an impressive system. To help out those looking to upgrade before its release in October, Turn 10 released the recommended specifications for targeted resolutions, frame rates, and detail levels at Gamescom 2017.

If you just want to sneak in under the barrier for entry, you can do so with something as simple as an Ultrabook with an Intel Core i5-6200 CPU, 8GB of RAM and on-board Intel HD 520 or better graphics. You will be unlikely to have anything but minimum graphics settings, nor hit a frame rate higher than 30 regularly, but you can at least view it at 720p resolution.

For those on a low-end desktop, you can achieve similar results with a Core i5-750, or AMD FX-6300 CPU, with 8GB of RAM and either a GT 740 or R7 250X. None of that hardware is new or expensive, so most shouldn’t have difficulty meeting that mark.

If you want the game to look a little prettier, you could go for what Turn 10 describes as “recommended.” There you’ll be gaming at 1080p at 60 frames per second, but you will need some heftier hardware to do it. You’ll need at least a Core i5-4460 or FX 8350 CPU, paired up with 8GB of RAM and a GTX 1050Ti or RX 560.

For those who want to see the game at its best, you’ll be able to enjoy it at 4K resolution at 60 FPS if you have the following or equivalent hardware. A Core i7-6700K or Ryzen 7 CPU, with 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1080 or RX Vega 64 graphics card.

Whatever detail level you’re looking to play the new Forza at, though, don’t forget that as one of the largest games ever made, you’ll need at least 100GB of install space for it. That doesn’t even begin to factor in DLC, so if you’re running an older, smaller SSD, make sure you clear some space for it.

2017 Forza Edition Ford GT
The Ford GT was created to fulfill the most auspicious destiny in the world of motorsport – claiming victory at Le Mans. Marking the 50th anniversary of the original Ford GT 40’s victory, the new Ford GT was built to prove that Ford can still dominate at the highest level of sports car racing. The production model GT is the starting point for homologation from which endurance racing provenance is borne. Take one look, or one listen, or one drive, and the character of a champion is obvious. Throughout the carved aerodynamics and gloriously sculptured form, players will find active elements and static design that create not only unique allure, but massive downforce. Within, technology abounds in adjustable suspension and drivetrain settings that put 647 EcoBoost twin-turbo driven horsepower to the massive rear wheels. Ford Performance set the bar high when they reinvented the GT, and of course both destiny and expectations were exceeded with not only the victory they sought, but the awe of the lucky 1,000 owners who are lucky enough to own them.

The complete list of Forza Edition cars is still growing, so stay tuned for more details on these amazing and highly beneficial cars and trucks! As always, stay tuned to ForzaMotorsport.net for the full list of Forza Motorsport 7 cars revealed to date.

Seems T10 are just letting Playground Games do all the hard work and then copy & paste it into Motorsport.

Probably. Whelp, I will have 700+ cars, and probably use about 20 of them, so I am gold :)

I need to play Forza 6 and Horizon 3 before i touch this but it's going to be amazing. I don't know how you guys do it, i can't start games unless i'm truly invested in it and racing sims are like RPGs these days. So much content.

Actually just played Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious expansion/stand alone game the other day. That gave me my fix but now i'm starting to feel the itch again.

Not impressed at the beginning with graphics. Could be the video but not that great. Cars look like they are floating on the track. I guess I will have to wait to see it on my own 4K TV.

You should really play Horizon 3 then. One of the best racing games of all time.

I think because of the overcast at the beginning there were no shadows, or minimal shadows.
