Unfortunately, I don't think this has a strong application for gaming, but I would like to try something like this as a future project for other uses. A few people are using things like this for BitCoin Mining. Mostly though, they're for precise physics simulations like predicting the weather or for Hollywood CGI Rendering Farms.
I'm thinking this could be an interesting way to apply some of what I studied in college as a side project. To get it figured out in principle, I might try acquiring some old WinXP machines. I already have one PC running the FreeBSD operating system so that's a start.
Actually, I have to take back part of the comment on using this for Gaming. I don't think a Client PC would benefit much from this, but these could be killer Gaming Servers. I guess EVE Online uses a behemoth system like this for all their space battles.
