Haven't really heard too much about it, though it's looking pretty good so far. I like the change back to the present from the future. It looks like it'll be pretty fun co-op. Hopefully going open world and another new game engine doesn't sully the game.

I hope they kill the cover system from future soldier. Like I really want them to bring back the tactical gameplay from gr2-GRAW 2. The lean and peak system was absolutely superior to the cover system. Used that system to absolutely dominate in gr2-GRAW 2 when I partook in clan matches and stuff.

I'm much more interested in co-op so fine by me.

Me too. I really couldn't care less at this point if it has PvP MP, I have plenty other games that scratch that itch for me. If it does end up having PvP and it's any good all that much better.

The trailer reminds me of Splinter Cell: Blacklist with the 3 ways to infiltrate. Speaking of, Ubi, isn't it time we got an announcement on the next splinter cell?

Man they've strayed a long way from the true tacticalness from OGR....smh...

Yeah. It's a brand name now. Nothing like where it came from. That said , evolution is good for games. And I like where this is going from what I've seen.

Yeah, i'm much more into the idea of co-op anyway. They probably didn't bother with multiplayer because they knew they would get slaughtered by the likes of CoD, Halo, Battlefield. How many mp games do you need?

Everyone has their opinions......I remember Tom Clancy once stood for true tacticalness, authentic, serious, nitty gritty military games. Now they all have blazing guitar themes, run and gun, and s*** that is so unrealistic it's silly.

OGR and it's expansions, Rainbow Six Raven Shield and it's expansion, and the first 3 splinter cell games. True tactical miltary games IMO. Not saying I didn't like ones after those, but those all have special places in my heart.

I completely agree with you. The OG recon games were super realistic and super gritty. There hasn't been of that type for a long time now. With some creative effort they could easily drop the Ghost Recon part of this and create a whole new brand but it's easier and lazier to use a well established brand name and deliver a completely different style of game under it. Imagine the up roar of Activision did something similar with Call of Duty down the line.

I still hope this game turns out to be as good as it looks though.

Oooh... That's a pretty cool trailer.

Those are some lush visuals. I like the look of the salt flats.

The game could do with some dragons/wizards though.

The problem is that they went all out in one direction or the other. Using the Tom Clancy brand for Wild Lands and Siege, etc, is all fine, but I think they would have been better served sticking with the realistic gritty games and also branching off to these more arcadey sub franchises.

Game companies today are too focused on making accessible games. Which means the tactical, tougher games are pretty much a thing of the past..

Absolutely agree. It's unfortunate that it's the way that worked out. Tom Clancy is turning in his grave.

You would think there would be a market for tactical gameplay with all the arcade shooters that pose as tactical.

It's all about the money.

If run and gun shooters is the trend, then that's why most shooters are fast paced.

It's like James Bond movies. Watch the old ones with Sean Connery or Roger Moore, and it's about a spy who schmoozes, uses gadgets and a pistol to get the job done. Slip in and slip out...... both girl and job. lol

Transport to 1990, and James Bond is shooting machine guns, driving tanks and now has no problem getting into shootouts like Rambo.

People love it and Bond has never been bigger.

You'd think so, but the number of gamers is proven to be small. So that's why devs don't make them anymore. A case of more exciting faster paced games took over.

It's like turn based games back in the day..... those old strategy games or RPGs.

Real time gaming was shunned as arcadey and videogamey. True strategy came from thinking man games, which were turn based.

Then suddenly PCs became powerful enough to make stuff move fast and real time strat games came out and were a big hit, RPGs became more action oriented with wither real time or phased combat. So suddenly all those hex gamers switch to Warcraft and Total Annihilation. And all those Panzer General games disappeared.

It looks like a poor man's Just Cause 3.

Totally agree. The only thing this game and OGR have in common is that it's a military shooter. *sigh*

They should just change the name of the franchise at this point.

Not too excited for this yet. We'll see what happens with it though.

I'm okay with the idea of copying JC3. It's just that, knowing Ubisoft, they are going to put f*** tons of restrictions that JC3 didn't have, come up with a control that feels super stiff and unresponsive, and add whole lots of meaningless collectibles that don't tie well into the map. And that's on top of the fact that it's not a tactical shooter that GR or even GRAW once were.

It's really funny because Ghost Recon's initial MO was that it was tactical, realistic, and gritty. This game displays none of that.

3rd person Ghost Recon? No thanks. I'm just not feeling the 3rd person thing.

It just looks like Division in the woods.

Ghost Recon has been native 3rd person for like 10 years now.... lol hasn't been native 1st person since OGR and its expansions.
