God of War

Just played the first hour- of anyone was worried this game isn't going to have crazy over the top s***, rest easy! Pretty damn impressive :D
 
Just under 3 hours of playing so far and the time just flew by! I love the feel of the combat, going to have to get used to blocking/parrying more as that's something you really never needed to do in the old games but the combat just feels right IMO.

I downloaded an update last night but it was nowhere near that big, didn't have to download anything today as far as I know.

Yeah four difficulty levels of I recall. basically goes like: Easiest, Normal, Hard and "This is God of War" difficulty mode which I'm assuming is like legendary diff.

Well, its all new for me having never played another one of the series. I really dig the combat. Its super tight. Plus it looks visually great and I'm on the normal ps4 but I do have HDR from the TV.

Finally turned the game off at 3:15 A.M. lol spent nearly 6 hours playing tonight, that's probably the longest single gaming session I've had in years. So far every single change they've made has been for the better. It's not just the gameplay changes that are for the better either, the voice acting is so much better now, the writing is better and it just feels more like an epic story instead of an arcade hack n' slash with some big set pieces thrown in. Those were fine at the time but this just seems so much deeper in every way than the previous games.

Also I don't know how many of you bought it digitally but the dynamic theme that game with it is pretty nice.
 
Well, this has been fun so far! Just dropped the big ol' rock on The Stranger. Throwing the ax over and over, NEVER gets old. Enemy gets in the way of retrieving the ax? Priceless.

Does anyone know....

I found door 1 of 7, but couldn't open it...maybe that will happen later? Also, found 3 of 4 lost and found toys prior to fighting stranger....I assume I missed a toy, or it's still coming?

Fighting The Stranger is some of the most fun combat ever, especially after you have to press L3+R3, WATCH THE f*** OUT !!!
 
I want the Dog of War as a sidekick.

I really wish I had today off. But I'll be home soon enough and then its time to school the kid in the art of war............Kratos style.

BTW, on my 4K TV in HDR, playing in resolution mode. Good lord does my PS Pro FAN SING!!
 
I heard 4 different people talking about this game at work yesterday, I didn't even know any of them played / liked video games. Kratos brings the closet nerds out into the sunlight.

I like it SOOOO much better than the old way. I love being able to block, parry, and dodge. It's more engaging, imo. I was surprised to see juggling, actually.

That first dude with the tatoos you fight was awesome

The Stranger scene rocked!!
 
OMG, I was just watching a video of dude at IGN playing on the hardest difficulty. Sure, you have to be careful at that difficulty but he played so conservatively by constantly throwing the ax and managed to make the combat look boring. Fortunately I've seen enough videos to know that the combat is a lot more flashy than this tool showed.

I was going to hold out until the price dropped a bit and I cleared out some recent purchases but the Wife put on the Spotify soundtrack while we were out shopping... three tracks in and I was completely tilted.

Currently downloading.

anyway played couple of hours... my god! combat is so satisfying, i was worried but so far so good

visuals ofcourse incredible, some of the best HDR with those particles

Picked it up on digital this morning. This game has top 5 best texture work I've ever seen.
 
are they god damn for real on the sorry? if so damn IGN are some cucks to the max.
