In regards to IGN. Despite being unbiased, they have always been seen as a Playstation leaning site. I don't know about now but, back when Greg Miller and Colin Moriarty worked there, Podcast Beyond was the most popular podcast on the site by miles and the Playstation section was the most visited section by a wide margin.
A apology was definitely warranted in regards to the God of War post. I highly doubt IGN doesn't want to lose any good standing with Microsoft and be left out of exclusive interviews, vids, hands-on etc.

I’m playing on Hard and its about the equivalent of a starter dark souls character.
I feel the same way...even though I have a Pro and this game still unopened wondering how the game will perform without being able to update the game.

I know your internet speed is slow but do you have a data cap or just don't want to deal with the wait?
I have to say one of the things that makes this game so impressive is it's art style, graphically it's high end all around but the little details and the choices they've made really come together nicely. I'm not going to be taking many pics of the game until the photo mode comes out though, don't want to spoil anything for anyone plus you can't really center the characters well with the camera set up for gameplay.
BTW I'm loving the controller that came with the GOW bundle.

So what should I do with armor upgrades? I’m using the starter armor and I’ve just unlocked the realm bridge. Each piece in the shop has a min max value. What’s runic for? Any advice on buying a load out ?
You can’t upgrade all the armor with improvements. You have to chose some positives and negatives. For example you can improve strength but it reduces defense or improve vitality but reduce luck. I haven’t done any upgrades yet because I’m not sure which way to go.
This is the game that I booted up my PS4 Pro again for (well, aside from the odd Persona 5 gameplay every few weeks or so). Just started, about 30 mins in. Pretty darn impressed so far.

I will echo eVo7 statement earlier though. This game has some of the best texture work I've seen. PC included. Like WOW.
Pretty great looking game, only a few graphical hangups but I think just going from overall graphics.. Horizon Zero Dawn still has the best all around graphics on console.
God of War on the otherhand, probably has to have the most remarkable world game/world design ever with the how they manage all of those massive set pieces, no loading, no camera cuts, all seamless etc etc.. I won't spoil anything but the way things chance after that one fight and after you meet snake-bro are pretty remarkable.
I'm about 4-5 hours in and framerate isn't really an issue, the drops are there but it's occasionally and even then, not something that's ever going to hinder your gameplay.

Great use of color as well. One area leading to the next feels different.
