Am I the only one reading the title of this thread and forget that it’s about the film and not about what people here may dress up as for Halloween?

Last year, I think the forum did actually have a Halloween 2017 thread, so the Halloween 2018 thread topic title for the movie kind of is confusing.

Just returned from watching the original 1978 film in the theater. it was a lot of fun seeing it in on the big screen. Hearing laughs when The Shape appears in the door wearing the ghost sheet and glasses, laughter / applause when he sits up after the closet scene, and more applause after Loomis looks out the window and he's gone was extremely enjoyable. I'll be seeing the new sequel at the same time in the same theater tomorrow, can't wait!!!!

I just got back from seeing it, I loved it. As of right this second, I'd say it's my new favorite sequel in the franchise. The Shape's a badass. Laurie is a badass. I had a huge smile across my face for 2 hours. Word of advise, you may want to stay until the credits are over...

Someone I trust saw it said the first half was not very good. They think H20 is the better sequel. Kind of disappointed me hearing that.

ewww....they have been playing H20 on TV....finally got to see it. That's way bad IMO. I wonder if it's an age thing.

In H20, they showed Michael waayyyy too much.

I saw H20 in theater when it originally came out. I really liked it. Haven’t seen it in a long time though.

I think I have different tastes then some of you. I actually saw 1 and 2 in the theaters when I was young. My parents took me to a bunch horror films for some reason. So, I still think 1 and 2 are the best. I did like 4 when they were going back to a real narrative, but quickly fell off that.

I liked H20 when I saw it in the theater too although I had to sit next to a couple who decided that night was the night to have a talk about their relationship. I wouldn't have been so mad if they had both spoken English, sadly one was speaking English and the other Spanish so I only got to know one side of the story lol.

As far as the movie I still remember the reaction in the theater when Jamie Lee Curtis went back into the school with the axe screaming for Michael, the place went nuts. The movie doesn't have the timelessness of the first one though, especially with some of the casting and the writing it just seems like a movie made for that exact period in time.

Looks like the movie is projected to make $80 million for it's opening weekend which is awesome, it has the potential to surpass Venom as the biggest October opening ever but that's not a sure thing, regardless an $80 million opening for a horror movie is great.

Saw it last Sunday, and would love to see it again this weekend. It's just so f***ing good. The atmosphere, acting, and musical score hit all the right marks. Left the movie theater with such a great feeling.

Saw it lastnight with the wife and we enjoyed it. Totally agree on the atmosphere, acting and music. Also liked that the characters felt like real people that could be your neighbour's cause everyone wasn't Hollywood beautiful looking.
We counted a kill tally of 20.

I hope the sequel gives us at least two male characters that aren't complete idiots. There was only one in this movie (the main police officer) but all of the teenage guys were morons but I guess that's to be expected but the adult males were even worse in some ways (not a good looking one in the bunch either lol) and it just turned me off a bit. That and some of the things that were done to Michael didn't sit right with me either but overall it's still a lot of fun and as I said in another thread it's still one of the best in the series.
