I got to the second mission in halo 4 and it a sight to see. Downright beautiful, looks completely next gen. If I would have never played the game in the past, I would have swore it was made for XB1.

I played through the Pillar of Autumn this morning with my nine year old beside me. Glorious. Took me a little while to settle back in, and a couple of embarrassing early deaths on Heroic because I hadn't gotten the location of the melee and reload buttons down right, but it's just, for lack of a better term, Halo Done Right.

I can't wait to see H2: Anniversary and H4, as the original Anniversary is looking fantastic. Much better than I expected it to look!

I was going to pick this up today but after reading so many bad things about the multiplayer(matchmaking, long times time get a game etc) I will wait

I love how you can go in and choose various control configs. I was used to everything from H4 so I went with that. I was turning on a flashlight instead of reloading and crouching when I wanted to melee. :)

Well, we could always organize some Union rumble matches.

I am thinking of doing the same, but CO-OP campaign is pulling my back in.

I figure I can get it used in a couple weeks for 35-40, maybe sooner if multiplayer is as broken as people are claiming

All games with online co-op has me tempted.

I noticed we got even more achievement points added with the day one patch!

This game is an achievement whore's wet dream.

Halo:MCC

Short impressions.

Game fired right up for me at 10:01pm last night. It loaded a small patch (98 megs).

Then I got the menu screen and the familiar Halo chant. From there I set all my control options and settings for the games. Going universal with COD style controls since most other games I play use that.

First after that I tried to get in a game of Halo 2 Anniversary Team Slayer. It was taking way too long so I figured there must be an issue. Well here is the downside to a launch as big as this. Something broke matchmaking. I did not want to fiddle with that too long. I jumped into Halo 2 A campaign. Set it to Heroic for me Solo. I will do Legendary Co-Op. I did the first area to where I give the Covenant their package back. Very satisfying and I found at least one terminal so far. I forgot how intense the Halo 2 campaign can be. The elites were sons of a guns in this game. Refreshing to play a shooter like this after that other game that came out recently. Then I saw Maynard and some other friends in a custom lobby so we played some Halo 1 rockets and then some Halo 2 classic Sniper/Shotties. LOTS OF FUN!! The 60fps makes this so smooth it is like a new game. I love the universal controls and had to fight the urge to use the old Halo style controls as muscle memory took over in some firefights and I forgot what melee button I had!

This is just from 2 hours with the game. I am sure I have many more fun hours to be had with it. Get it!!

I am trying to let my brother join me in my Halo CE campaign, but i see no option for it in the game itself. So i invited him via the party app. But he gets this error:

Failed to connect as the session is full.

Think this has to do with the server issues?

As much as I wanted to jump in and start off with Halo 2's shiny new goodness I decided to start from the beginning and am glad I did! I bought and played Halo Anniversary but I swear they did stuff to make it look even better. Maybe it is just the 1080P and the framerate and being on the X1?

I started off with the default settings for Halo CE but ended up switching it to the Halo 3 settings. I like the bumper as the Melee button.

And yes, so many achievements popping up!

I think framerate makes a big difference in fps games. I was playing through the 360 Halo anniversary and the difference in smoothness is huge.

was halo anniversary a full 720p? if not, that could be why, 720p compared to 1080p is already huge.

It (CE Anniversary) seriously looks soooo much better than I remember on 360. I'm really impressed, can't imagine how I'll feel about H2 Anniversary and 4!

Halo CE Anniversary was sub 720p on the 360 up scaled. Now its 1080p without any up scaling.

Everybody downloading the digital game and the 15 gb patch all at once. It MS servers weren't up to par they should had put the DLC on a second disc!!! This is unnecessary for a subscription based service!! And MS go around acting like kings for releasing old games. MS are fvcking dump!

The matchmaking was working this bad before the game officially launched too so I don't think thats the issue (although the slow DL is problem just a different problem). The player count wasn't the issue. They just weren't ready. Throw in no 16 player MM and and Halo 1 bugs and you got yourself a pretty poor launch.
