For me I never really felt I completed any Halo until I beat them on lengenday. If your like me it's just your brain kicking. I walked through the first level without dying, and accudently picked up a health pack.
Once you do lengenday all the other difficulties are like child's play.
I had problems watching Nightfall as well, I think it is borked along with the matchmaking. Mine would cut out and just jump to another part of the Halo channel without warning in the middle of playback.
Normal, is insanely easy. Heroic is that nice middle ground. My friend and I are doing it on Legendary, now that's a challenge
I've tried that, there is no option to play the video, just view episodes or buy Halo.
What I said yesterday about noticing it on the Hunters but not really the Elites much? Yeah, Truth and Reconciliation called, I answered the phone, and it got shoved in my face. The cloaked elites seemed really freaking fast compared to what I remembered, but again also seem a little bit easier in most cases. I'm actually probably having more trouble with the Jackals and charged plasma shots from the periphery than pretty much anything else in the game at this point.
Incidentally, I didn't get the achievement for finishing the Halo level. Meh. I don't care much about them anyhow, but since I heard there had been the problem I checked. I'll need to play through again at some point to find the terminals, since I'm not really bothering to look for them, so that'll probably unlock then I imagine.
You should crank up your sensitivity if you feel the aiming is slow (I use 10, the default is 3, and it's painful).
Yes, Normal is so easy it is boring. Bump it to Heroic- much harder, especially solo. Legendary will murder your soul. Halo 2 is quite a bit harder than CE.
I'm a fan of "universal green fingers". It can be used for all the games. It has Melee on the right thumbstick, grenades on left trigger, zoom on right bumper.
I tried legendary on halo 2 last night. I can't even begin to express how much of a gamer I've devolved. I used to have fighting chance at least.

YEAH i played some of HaloCE and just the way the ai react even the humans is very good my gunner on the hog was getting alot of kills, and saying stuff i did not remember_also the snipers on the hill help me clear out some spot when i was getting overun (game has an organic feel compared to stuff like the new cod, its just so scripted and linear).
I've had that same experience with the organic feel. I'm just amazed at that. I would have thought 10 years ago we were headed in a positive direction with AI, not sure what happened that a 10 year old game still holds and even surpasses modern games in that area. Sad.
You mean you sat in the lobby searching for a game all night. Thats nothing to brag about.
There was a review about how someone didn't like the checkpoint system, they where few and far between...Some gamers today want to have their hands held...Love it...Makes it a challenge...My friend and I played for 5hrs on Legendary and only got to 343 Guilty Spark...It was 5am, we finally called it...
My matchmaking is still busted so I played more of the Halo 2A campaign. So much fun and it is cool to switch back and forth with the graphics and be wowed.
Yep, Halo has done something that few other games have really managed. I rarely even bother with single player FPS games anymore. They are all room to room corridor shooters. Few games manage to capture the somewhat open nature of the game including AI. The game holds up really well. Halo 1 gets repetitive, but then again, so does pretty much every other SP FPS.
It's easy to forget how much better the AI in the Halo games is than, well, any other game I can think of. The closest I ever saw was the first FEAR game, and that was just on the standard soldiers. What's even more amazing is the sheer variety of enemy AI types and conditional behaviors.
I go to Multiplayer > Find Game > Choose Game Type (example: Halo 2 Anniversary or Big Team Battle) > Press A. On the right side of the screen, the list of players appear (12-16 depending on the game type). It says "searching" for each of the players until all players are found, and then their player names start to populate. Takes about 30-45 seconds.
Surprisingly legendary on Halo 3 is easier than I had remembered, but I was playing co-op too.
Under controller settings, Universal zoom and shoot is prolly the closest to the COD style of controls.
