Horizon: Zero Dawn

I understand. The point has been made. Do you think we do not understand that you think PS games get delayed often? Do you really think we are that dense, to have missed a point made constantly for years now?

I think it's something Xbox fans like to harp on, and it gets annoying. I mean, look at the people who are upset about the delay -- they're all Xbox fans. You, dead, menace, even my beloved boss Plainview -- you're all heavily Xbox guys. I think you guys just like to hammer the point, over and over and over and over.

It is really tiring. Tedious.
Calm down Andy, it's just a game. I was just getting a rise out of you. I wasn't any happier that UC4 got delayed than when QB got delayed. There are a lot of exclusives on Xbox that get delayed as well. We are in a PS thread, so I kept it PS related ;)

I don't care that Horizon was delayed, I would take a delay over a buggy POS, like Halo MCC. I was glad UC4 was delayed, as my experience with the game has been bug free.

I'm just tired of hearing the same litany, over and over. Maybe I need to #getoverit myself and just accept that I'm an Xbox-dominant forum, and that's the way it's going to be. :really: It sure does suck all the fun out of posting here, though.

Back to the Horizon game.....I am looking forward to the game, but I am a shooter guy....so the departure from Killzone will be an interesting one for me when playing a game from Guerrilla.

Only if you take it too serious, like Val ;)

It's hard to not take it seriously when it is constantly brought up, when people go on repetitive rants/diatribes about it, when people create long lists of every game delay they can think of, when they harp on about it over and over -- to me, that's people taking something seriously, which is why the #dealwithit post.

I don't think you understand, but that's ok. You're a good man. I just think you don't see how annoying it can be to listen to.

The reality is everyone is guilty of either delaying games, canceling games, releasing games that are broken, or releasing games that have less content than they typically do. Even those huge games that are dependable and are "too big to slip" come out in a state that is unacceptable. So what is an acceptable sacrifice to hit the precious holiday season that list warriors love?

Maybe its a problem with Sony management. Maybe Sony gives their studios as much time as they need. Maybe Sony likes to hype their games by promising dates they know they aren't likely to hit. I don't know and neither does anyone else here but I am confident that the concern is fake and the motives are transparent.

First and foremost I am a gaming fan. I am not an "Xbox fan, " I am a fan of the key titles on the Xbox Platform. If PS4 launched with Bloodbourne, Motorstorm and a next-gen Gran Turismo then I would already have one.

I am upset because this is a key title in my decision to buy a PS4, and now it isn't coming till 2017. So neither is my PS4 purchase.

Let's bring this thread right round lol.I am sure we are going to see a kick ass demo at Sony's conference.

Better not be rendered!

After witnessing so many E3s, I have a hard time believing anything from any company unless it is playable there on actual hardware that we already have. That goes for all the companies that show games.
The presentations, news, teasers, etc are usually fun, but with the delays and downgrades we've become accustomed to, I've become far more realistic in my post-E3 expectations.
That being said I really hope Horizon is playable, as I'd love to hear some gameplay impressions.
And I know IGN played 45 minutes of TLG, so hopefully it's there in some playable form also.

Yes, let's. Enough with the delay talk and comparison lists. We're getting off topic into console comparisons, and discussion about the nature of game delays in general. I've deleted some posts to get us focused on the topic of Horizon again. Apologies to those whose posts were deleted, but I need to wrench this thing back on track.

Onward ho to E3. We should see something there. If not a playable demo, at least an extended, "guided tour" type demo, and some new info.

They will probably treat this a bit like Uncharted 4, so hands on impressions will come like in January next year. Of course this is a new I.P so Sony may see sense in getting hands on impressions earlier like November this year.

I wonder if this has anything to do with possible Neo integration?

The rumor a few weeks ago was any footage of Horizon that was going to be shown would be Neo footage, but passed off as PS4 footage. Hard to tell from that trailer but it looks great. Maybe we'll find out at the show.

I do not think Sony could show footage of a Neo version without it being announced as that would be deceiving people. I trust Guerrilla, they are tech wizards and their engine could pull of visuals that good despite the scope of the game.

But Sony (and others) have done that on PC.

I think that new trailer is PS4 footage. You could see some pop in and lighting glitches far in the distance.

I think it looks great, but it doesn't look that good to where it isn't achievable on current systems.

Neo could help it. I just think were at a point where the current gen games are starting to look the same in a lot of way so its difficult to look incredible anymore other than art.

After seeing that I am starting to see some merit to this game that I hadn't felt before. I really like how the environment plays a role in battles, like having to aim around trees. But then it's a little disappointing to not see smaller trees fall when a robot-dino attacks and morphs through it.

Graphically it looks outstanding, right up there with the recent Tomb Raider. I'll be interested to find out how big the world is.

And the best part, the way she slides down cliffs on her bum. :hehe:

What we seen so far is pretty solid. Guerilla said "no hand hlding" and that was true in this video. At high difficulty it may be challenging as Bloodborne.

From a technical standpoint I highly doubt TR is anywhere close to Horizon.just sayin. lol

Out of all new Ip's this gen Horizon the most potential.. So far it's meeting my expectations. Even if the story is just o.K the gameplay and overall experience will hold up nicely.

I'm still unsold, based on their track record with Killzone. I'll need to hear they've really taken their game up another notch, before I'm ready to buy in. Seems like they've got a pattern of putting out graphically impressive trailers, but then the actual gameplay is sort of average. I've heard that Horizon will be different, but I'm in "prove it" (or at least "wait and see") mode.
