How Assassin's Creed: Unity's micro-transactions work...

I blame everyone!
lol

I guess the way I look at it is the current model is ok. They aren't forcing you to pay in order to win a game. If that changed, then we'd have problems. I'm just thinking about now I suppose.

Yeah, it's fairly tame at the moment, but I won't support it or games that utilize it. Just sets a bad precedent for the future. This especially applies to games that use it in the SP or main game mode.

So what's broken about the game? I've put quite a bit of time in, and I don't see the broken. Lot's of games- even good ones- have had framerate issues in the past, and that's the only thing I can see issue with. The micro-transactions are way overblown, imo. As far as I can see It's just so you can level faster. If you want to do that, hey, it's your money. Maybe for people that don't like to grind for equipment? I find the "second screen" stuff far more annoying. I'd rather not have to leave the game (I'm looking at you too, Destiny lore/story).

I'm really diggin' this one, personally. It's beautiful, challenging, and I love just walking around looking at all the lighting and detail. I like that you have to be more careful with enemy encounters. I like the new approach to navigation, and I love the setting.

The ridiculous over-expectation from people and hyperbolic level of hate for Ubisoft is nuts in my opinion.

Agreed. It's blown way outta proportion IMO. I don't really like the game's melee combat anymore, it's super slow and feels less responsive & sluggish. I also don't really like that they removed or gated off alot of basic franchise staples (moving bodies, no double air assassinate until so far into the game etc.) but the parkour is decently better...

That's some bullsh!t. They're not nickle and diming me for nothing. Still looking forward to playing AC: Unity though.

Just realize that what you are describing is one of the most common f2p models. If you are confident that they are not or will never purposefully inflate the time it takes to level/the amount of grinding in order to boost microtransaction revenue than you have way more faith in them than I.

I think fans of the series are enjoying it generally, especially on X1. The intense hate comes from those who were never going to buy it to begin with.
Their responses are pathetic and childish. I don't like Madden but if others do, good for them! I cant imagine what these miserable folks are like in their personal lives.
I do feel bad for fans on the 4 and PC. Hopefully it gets patched soon so that they can enjoy this amazing game.

It seems to me they didn't make those things available from the start so they can have a sense of progression/RPG-ness- many games do this. I actually like the slower, more impactful fighting in this new one, too. In addition to being more realistic, it makes it more challenging, and emphasizes the need to properly defend ones self- making timing more important. Were you able to remove bodies before? I can't seem to remember, lol. I remember having to lure them in order to keep the bodies away from discovery.

I was really appreciating the improved parkour last night. It's not perfect, but I make far fewer mistakes, and feel like I have more control over where I am going. It also make it more involving. I like it.

I finally had a major glitch after more then ten hours, I fell through the floor. I eventually desynchronized and was 1 minute back in the game. I don't see how this is an issue, I think this has happened to me in all AC games. If it was every 5 minutes I would understand, but once every ten hours? I don't get it.

Blofeld, the game has a lot of fixing that needs to be done. Thousands of opinions have been voiced all over the Internet and if you read DF's face- off, they mention a variety of bugs ranging from minor to game-breaking and yes that is the word they used. Count yourself lucky to only have experienced it once in 10 hours I suppose but that doesn't give Ubisoft an excuse to release a poorly optimized game that we see here.

I can only go by my own personal experience, to which it runs fine. Other folks can attest to that, some that post here. One thing that I have done in the past few years is ignore games media, and I am glad. I have made my own decisions and have enjoyed gems that I would have missed. This has been my favorite AC, I love the city, story, and scope. It would have been sad if I missed it.

That's great. Me, I'll probably wait till next year to get it. Hopefully most of the general issues will have been fixed.

Yeah, I mean, they really did need to do something with the combat to make it harder, because it was pretty ridiculous how easy the combat has been ever since AC2 really. the new system is just frustrating to me. It feels to me to be 'artificially slow', if that makes any sense. Attacks take so much time to perform, it's crazy. I would love to use the long spear weapons, but they're slower than one handed swords which feel pretty slow to me as well. I just like to be nimble and agile in combat, dodging and evading attacks and then striking quickly, but this system is just not to my liking at all.

The parkour on the other hand I have next to no gripes about. An improvement to past game's navigation mechanic in every way. It's more involved, more precise and more intuitive.
