I'd like to see stricter moderation with regards to console wars

The amount of dead horse beating in the Xbox forum about X games not being true 4k etc is ridiculous. I was disappointed too that MS went back on their initial promise but certain people really need to get over it and stop dragging threads around to old arguments again and again.

True moderation, without compromises.

Point to examples please. As always, posts can be reported. We do our best to keep it all under control while also being fair.

There's nothing malicious, just the same old argument from a select couple of people about the ONE X not being a true 4K console being dragged up ad nauseam.
It'd just be nice to discuss the console without having to rehash Microsoft's misstep of promising native 4K for everything when it was first announced.

Still the same. When a post comes up that you feel is repeated a million times, report it and we'll look at it. People usually comply

My experience has been that people don't report posts much, not until things have gone off the rails pretty far. I think most members are reluctant to complain, for a variety of reasons (e.g., they don't want to feel like a complainer or a "snitch;" they feel like it's easier to just ignore it; maybe they don't know the process; or maybe they've had reports ignored in the past so don't see the point of reporting; maybe they feel like they should handle it themselves rather than "run to a moderator," etc.). We hardly get any reports at all. Another factor is that some of the console warrioring on the Xbox side is done by (a small subset of) Xbox guys. No one is going to file a report about that.

So, I think the better solution, rather than to wait for members to complain, is to have moderators on the Xbox side who read the the main Xbox threads daily. That way, the mods are tuned into the discussions, and they can catch things themselves, then deal with it. Granted, that's easier for me to do on the PS side, because there is so much less traffic.

I don't snitch and settle my problems like a real man by leaving flaming bags of dog poop on people's front porch.

Surely I've never earned such ire

I'm a model forum poster. Peace and cooperation is my middle name. Parents were hippies.

I go through them almost daily, but haven't seen much that has gone too far off rails.

Unless it is a forum rule, beating a dead horse is just annoying really. It makes some people feel better to say trite things like "it may look like 4k, play like 4k titles, run at 60fps, but it isn't "true" 4k." Had those same tired as arguments with regards to 1080p when it was PS4/Pro over Xbone titles. It will never end :)

I will tighten ship a little to help out, but like Plain said, reports work as well for us to focus and look at the thread to see whats up.

Not gonna lie. I've almost banned everyone in the multiplatform forum at least ONCE....

Come on over to the Nintendo forum sometime. It's like the retirement home of Union. Or like living in the country where your next closet neighbor is a mile away.
