5000, 10000, whatever would you attempt to find the person who lost it?

I think it would depend with what condition I found it in. If it was in a briefcase with cocaine, I'm keeping that cash and dropping the coke at the police station.

If I found it in a personal box, ya now, something that you can tell is someone's savings, left in a cab, bus, etc., I'll try to find the owner.

Describe the bag the money is found in first.

If its a brown paper bag, I'm not touching it.

If its a Hermes Berkin, I'll snatch that s*** right off a bitches shoulder and run.

Honestly it's all about the circumstances. If there was a chance I could find the owner, like there was a name or a phone number or something, I'd give it back. If there was no chance of me finding the owner, if it was a bag on a road with no one around anywhere, I'd probably keep it.

Wasn't there a movie about this with Bill Paxton and Billy Bob? I saw it in the theater but I have no memory of anything that happened after they found the money. I'm sure it was smoothly and easily resolved, and everyone got what they wanted in the end.

As for me, I'd probably assume it was a trap. I'd look around suspiciously and loudly declare I had no interest in it, then casually walk away.
