New iPhone may be called IPhone X. But will the X in the name hinder its sales in Japan?

http://gizmodo.com/apple-just-leaked-ios-11-and-looks-like-were-getting-an-1802936703

*edit towards mods* can you fix the title and add "i" to the "t" so it may spell out "it"
Why will the X hinder sales in Japan?

As far as the phone goes, it's gonna be the best iPhone, but the omission of TouchID turns me away initially. I love it. Only 3 gigs of ram. Wireless charging is a gimmick at this point. It offers no benefit over plugging it in, none. I still may get it, I'm a tech nut after all, but I'm leaning towards not getting it.

X represents stop and I'm assuming other negative shtufffffffff....I can't recall exactly what's been said about x in Japan, anyways.

I wonder how much my $20 Moto E Tracfone is worth in trade towards one of these...

OLED edge screen = Samsung ahead of Apple... again! I'll stick with my S8+.

Looks cool, I just picked up Note 8 though and I'm more than happy that I got this instead of waiting on the IphoneX

Read about the iPhone 10 again, yeah, no need for me to get it. Omission of Touch ID is big for me as I really like it.

How you liking it? I still have the Note 5, and am having a tough time convincing myself to upgrade. I love the Note, and can't live without the stylus.

So far so good, I had the note 4 and liked it a lot but then I changed to an S7 Edge which I also liked but I missed the larger screen. The Note 8 is really nice, it's basically what I liked about both of those phones rolled into one. I don't use the stylus a lot but I do like the large screen size and the camera is really nice on it too. The camera was the main reason I went with this and not the S8 plus. One nice advantage this note has over the other notes is it's also IP68 water and dust resistant so you don't have to worry about getting it wet in the rain etc. Battery life has been totally fine too, so far I haven't found anything I dislike about this phone.

In surprised that they didn't move it to the back, like Sansung. Samsung actually took some heat in the reviews for moving it to the back, so I'm wondering how they fare with the critics... not like that matters for Apple. Still, it's this "we've got the better way " attitude (just like ditching the headphone jack with the i7), that always turned me off.

I personally use the iris scanner on the 8+, instead. It works ok, but I wonder how Apple's facial recognition compares. Think I might go back to fingerprint, even though it is kind of in an awkward place. I did think it's probably quicker, somehow.

What exactly are they trying to do here. You got the iPhone 8 and 8 plus coming. As well as the X. How many variations do you need. I guess they had to get in on that hype.

I've been switching back and forth between Apple and Android for years. What a shock huh? Another piece of technology i can't stick with one brand. It's Apple's turn for me, but i think i'll go with the iPhone 8 over the X.

I LOVE the stylus. That plus Autodesk Sketchbook is awesome for drawing/painting. I also love being able to handwrite notes (and that you don't have to unlock to take quick ones). It even does a good job of not letting you lose it. I can't go back to a regular phone.

Was the note 5 the first one that had the rounded glass edges like the Galaxy S series? I know the Note 4 was a bit more squared.

The one I have doesn't have round edges. My wife had an S6 edge that did though. That's kinda cool, but pretty useless. I'd still have my S4 if the note didn't have such nice utility.

Yeah the rounded edges really just help make the phone easier to hold IMO, it's not quite as wide with the smaller bezels and the screen being the shape it is. Otherwise you are right though it's more of a gimmick than anything else.
