So I got the Killer is Dead game, which I think was from the same folks who made that Killer 7 game for the gamecube. It's alright overall. Biggest stength and weakness is the weirdness for me. It both draws me in while pushes me back a bit. The positives are in the over the top scenarios, action, gore, and characters, but the drawback is in the scenarios, action, gore, and characters.
Positives
+ Cool look and heavily stylized
+ Unique and original
+ Nice level of difficulty that keeps me coming back
+ Game makes me laigh
+ Looks to be quite a bit of content. Tons of variety, upgrades, side missions, etc.
+ Fun boss fights.
Negatives
- The dialogue can be pretty lame. Very cliche avante garde anime.
- Combat actually feels a bit clunky here and there
- One of the characters, Mika I think her name is. Simply stupid. It's supposed to be some kind of cool Japanese teenager or something, but it comes across as annoying and lame to me.
- The stylized look really bleeds hard into everything. It's a bit hard to judge enemy movements when those enemies are dark as s*** and the background is also dark as s***.
Overall, game seems fun so far. I've only played a third of it, but I'm enjoying it. Got myself a collector's edition so I got some DLC stuff (costumes, glasses for a mini-game, extra levels), soundtrack, and a art book. Sweet package for $40 in my opinion. I'll post more impressions as I go along, but if you're a fan of Grasshopper (I believe they developed this and games that tend to be heavy on the weird, then you might enjoy this one.
