I heard that was it -- the video posted above, I mean. It's supposed to be a quick recap of what has gone before. I watched it and have no idea what any of it means. I guess it might work for someone who has already played the previous games, but I haven't, so I'm lost.
When I talk about it with KH fans, they say I should play the previous games, because the story is so important. I'm not going to do that. It would take too much time. If I end up wanting to play the game (undecided), I'll probably look at a Youtube summary of the plot. Or maybe the devs will include something besides that intro movie above. Hope so.
As someone who's only played through the mainline games( KH 1 &2) and not any of the spinoffs, that video made minimum sense. Ugh. off to the wikis I go.
I'm playing it on a PS4 Pro. The frames is all over the place. Performance is hit or miss in both standard and stable performance modes. Graphically the art style saves it. The Story even with the recap at the beginning means nothing if you haven't played the other 6(!) non numbered games in the series. So far the first world, Disney's Hercules has not made a good impression but apparently it gets better. Plus according to all, there are no Final fantasy characters in KH3, a first for the series.
As I play right now, its feeling like a 7/10 to 8/10 game. A relic from the PS2 days with a shiny new coat.

Girlfriend and I playing through it slowly. So far so good. I've actually never played a Kingdom Hearts game before but the graphics and art style look pretty.
Well, I gave Kingdom Hearts 3 a shot, but I didn't like it enough to stick with it. I was hoping it would provide a pleasant, lighthearted distraction, but I just couldn't get into it.
On the positive side, the visuals are great -- very colorful, very pretty at times. Lots of effects going off during combat.
Speaking of combat, though, I didn't like that part, and it was the main reason I stopped. It felt chaotic and simplistic. In terms of "chaotic," I mean there was way too much going on at once on the screen. A dozen enemies bouncing around at various heights, your compatriots jumping all around, and dozens of visual effects going off. It all was very colorful and attractive, but I couldn't keep track of things, and I felt like I was more or less just hacking and slashing until the battle was over. Mash X until the power attack charged up, then press triangle. That was pretty much it.
I don't like that sort of combat. I like to think and plan things out, and I like to be able to understand what's going on rather than just hack & slash until everyone's dead. The visuals were impressive but felt like overkill and just added to the sense of chaos. I only played for about 3 hours, but I already found myself feeling bored when I saw a new group of enemies; it was like, "Here we go again." Not a good sign.
Cut scenes were well done, although the dialog was hit and miss. Sometimes it was funny, but most of the time it fell flat, at least for me. Maybe if you're a big KH or Disney fan, it would work better.
My general feeling was that the game was heavy on spectacle, light on sense.
Ah well. Not for me. Off to ebay.
