Sony bossman Shuhei Yoshida sounds enthusiastic and confident on the future of Sony's flagship game console, and then tiptoes around an obvious question.

I never understood why some people claimed this would never come out. Sony continued to confirm both its existence and its development at least once a year.

Good news, I've pretty much just told myself its never coming so it'll be great if it does. Work diligently on planetside 2 while your at sony, supposed to be a ps4 launch game.

I believe in results, not empty promises. They need to do better than "I'm not gonna show any new OR old footage for years unending." I can't even remember the last time we have seen a single thing about this thing aside from PR tweets.

It doesn't matter when it comes out. It's taken so long that it would never be able to live up to the delay.

Does it need to? What did Shiguru Miyamoto say about a good game that's been delayed opposed to a bad game that has been released?

Three words...

Duke Nukem Forever.

...was a bad game.

I'm not sure what point you're getting at here. Your original post referred to hype hurting this game now it's lengthy development times? For every Duke Nukem there's a Team Fortress 2, SyarCraft 2, and LA Noir, which all had lengthy, troubled development and still turned out well.

I think most gamers will judge and enjoy The Last Guardian based on the final product. If it's good its good. I don't see too many people experiencing games based on four year old E3 trailers.

Where did I say hype? :txbconfused:

This could be the best game of all time, and I''d never consider buying it. So f***ing sick of hearing about this stupid Neverending Story game.

Still think Sony is FOS and development was scrapped and then after the press drilling them.. they picked up where they left off.

By that I meant that people will see the game delayed for years and years will demand that the game be the best game ever which will be impossible to live up to.

Who thinks this way? What percentage of PS4 owners even know what The Last Guardian is? Of those people, how many are so frustrated that they won't enjoy the game based on the game? I think we're talking about a negligible amount of people.

I'd be interested to see what your temperature is a week before it finally releases. I think you'll be singing a different tune.

Lol no. Decisions are not made this way.

Despite the huge delays if it does actually come out it will generate enormous hype and be a pretty big game for Sony. I do think they need to show something next year or people will start giving up on it.

Jennifer Laurence gif! Jennifer Laurence gif!

Seriously dude...you are going to make a jennifer lawrence comment and not post an image of that hot to trot whore that I want to f***ing bang all night long?

There certainly were doubts about this games future until recently. I'm not sure how it can be argued otherwise.

And even now with Sony's reassurance, nothing new has been shown. Not concept art or anything

Meh...if once every 9 to 16 months, someone from Team Ico or Sony basically says "We're still working on it" it's basically a good sign. Games that get cancelled don't have that happen to them. I never had much doubt that this game wouldn't see the light of day. Now whether it'll be good or not...

I agree with you. Sony would not saying it's being developed (and spending a lot of time on it) if it wasn't. Does that mean that they can't still cancel it? Sure, they could. But it sounds like millions are already invested, so they won't.
