Saw Steely Dan last night in Raleigh. One of my all time favorite groups! Songs included:
Aja
Hey Nineteen
Black Friday
Time Out of Mind
Bodhisattva
Babylon Sisters
Josie
Peg
My Old School
Reeling in the Years
and Kid Charlemagne (encore)

Becker and Fagen are still laying down killer grooves after 40 years. If you have a chance to see them, DO IT.

Anyone else catch any concerts lately?

Saw The Weeknd the other night. Was pretty awesome.

Had front row seats to Daniel Tosh last weekend. Mofo is hilarious.

Previous to those in the last couple of years seen Young The Giant, Death Cab, GroupLove, Cage the Elephant, Kimbra and Gotye, Mumford and Sons.. And probably several I'm forgetting.

Saw Mountain Of Love on Saturday, was excellent!

Next up is Giant Star

then Jagwar Ma.

Bands I've seen since 2010:

Elton John
Steely Dan (twice)
Joe Bonamassa
Eric Clapton
Buddy Guy / Johnny Lang
Alison Krauss
Tedeschi Trucks Band
Black Crowes
Foreigner
Paul Rodgers (of Bad Company, Free)
Kansas
38 Special
The Marshall Tucker Band
Blue Oyster Cult
Foghat
Molly Hatchet
Atlanta Rhythm Section
The Artimus Pyle Band (of Skynyrd)
Fired Guns (Blackfoot)
Avett Brothers

The ones from "back in the day" (that I remember - we're talking the 70s and 80s; sometimes I didn't remember the bands we saw the previous night, LOL)

Styx
Foghat
The Outlaws
Aerosmith
Billy Joel
The Allman Brothers
Blues Travelers
Little Feat
ZZ Top
James Taylor
Fleetwood Mac
Stevie Nicks
Kiss
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Natucket
White Snake
Night Ranger
Pat Benetar
Stevie Ray Vaughn
The Eagles
The Doobie Brothers

Best concert - Skynyrd. It was exactly 10 years to the day that their plane went down. When they came out for the encore (Free Bird, of course), Johnny Van Jant said, "There wasn't but one person could sing this song." Then he put his brother's hat on the mic stand, the spot light hit it and they eased into an instrumental version of the song. The crowd did the vocals. Man, what a moment.

Best Guitarist (MHO) - Buddy Guy. His strat didn't need to go to the restroom after that show; he played the sh|t out of it! 76 years old to boot! Next would be Stevie Ray Vaughn and Joe Bonamassa. Of course Clapton still holds his own. (Derek Trucks ain't no slouch either).

My short list: Alabama Shakes; great throwback groove and sound. Awesome vocals. Check em out if you haven't already.

Haven't been to a concert since the Night Ranger/STYX/REO Speedwagon one a few years back here. Was going to go to the Bon Jovi concert up at FirstEnergy Stadium, but it got cancelled due to low ticket sales.

2 years ago went to Blink 182. Opening act was My Chemical Romance.

Was sooo good.

That sux; I'd love to see Bon Jovi.

I saw The Gaslight Anthem and the Hold Steady back in July. Haven't been to too many lately, there aren't really any venues around my university. Before that I saw the Foo Fighters and Jimmy Eat World at Bamboozle in 2012 which was awesome. I also saw Smash Mouth since they put on a free show nearby that summer. It was actually really enjoyable.

And I'd love to see Billy Joel, but he hasn't been touring in a while.
I think I heard/read that he's composing classical music or something. When I saw him he was doing the pop stuff he wrote around the time he and Christie were together. Great show.

Hmm.. I think my last was The National back in 2010 for High Violet. Was hoping to see them again this month but didn't get a chance. Don't usually go to many concerts.

Metallica/Godsmack
Rush
Eddie Money
Foreigner
Andrew Bird
The National/The Antlers

I'm going with my wife tonight to see Maroon 5 in Dallas. Not my favorite but concerts always make for a great after-party with the wife.

Hey whatever works!!!!

That's too bad, man. I saw them this summer, they were fantastic. I've loved the new album, one of my favs this year.

These are the most recent shows I've been to in the last few months:

David Byrne & St. Vincent
Belle & Sebastian
The Flaming Lips
The National (Sharon Van Etten opened, who was also great)
Grizzly Bear

Had tix to see Atoms For Peace in DC next week with a friend, but I'm unfortunately not going to be able to fly out there now.
