So we have:
  1. A screaming black man.
  2. An announcer that curses at the players.
  3. Blood everywhere.
Yeah, this looks like what I'd expect from Cliffy B. It looks like it could be a lot of fun, but I'll need to see a bit more to tell if it's for me.

That game is stunning. Especially in slow mo.

The gameplay looks so hectic that you wont get a chance to notice the details though.

That was a bad ass trailer. Love it. Gameplay looks very fun. Looking forward to the Alpha.

Tell me more!
I signed up for the alpha

Unfortunately I don't have much else to say bout it. They had a tournament going on for it, so I didn't get to play it. What I saw of it looked awesome, too bad a suck with a mouse and keyboard.

I'm not really digging it. I can already see all kinds of balance issues with these powers and so forth.

It doesn't matter though, because the best arena shooter in over a decade is available now and it's free...

Is it me or it looks like a recent Blizzard release. Tell me something that make it stand out from Overwatch?

Looking forward to it. So many good games coming up and E3 isn't even here yet.

Cliff Bleszinski addresses the differences between Lawbreakers and Overwatch

"A R-rated experience: We are putting the cartoon characters to bed. The adults are here to cause violence and chaos. We don't want to make a game that will be lumped in with the cartoon style from our competitors. LawBreakers is a bloodsport."

While Lawbreakers may look like it plays similarly to Overwatch, but director Cliff Bleszinksi would rather that people focus on the differences.

The interview above, posted by Eurogamer, has a lot of good insights into how the game plays and what Boss Key Productions hope to achieve with the title.

At the 5:08 point in the interview, Eurogamer’s Chris Bratt asks Cliff ‘Cliffy B’ Bleszinski to address the differences between his upcoming game and Overwatch, and whether the comparisons annoy him.

“When people see something, they immediately want to put it in a bucket with something else”, Bleszinski says.

“And there is some overlap in regards to the fact that we have characters and guns and weapons and whatnot, but the thing is that our art style is a little bit more gritty – theirs is kind of, super bright colors, almost anime-ish characters…they’re going for a bazillion different characters, while we’re going initially with less is more, and we’re ramping up to find our balance.”

“And them, as a game, are so much rock-paper-scissors. And for us, you know, if I come around the corner in Overwatch and I have the wrong character, and someone else has the right character, in that rock-paper-scissors match, I’m dead.”

According to Bleszinski, this won’t be the case in Lawbreakers. “Also, in Overwatch, if I enter a room with four, five, six people from the other team, I don’t stand a chance of really taking them all out. If you’re really good at this game with any of the different roles and classes, you can take out an entire team.”

Lawbreakers is coming to PC and does not have a release date yet, although a closed alpha ran last weekend for ‘friends and family’. Overwatch is out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Cliff Bleszinski was on hand to talk about the game's now public alpha version (no NDAs, he emphasized, so leave feedback early and often). "If Overwatch is Street Fighter, we're going to be Mortal Kombat," he said.

I watched someone play it last weekend (I think?) and it looked fun as hell.

This game like looks really fun. I trust Cliffy B when it comes to balancing a multiplayer game. Really hoping that they make a Scorpio port eventually. This game could really pop at 4K with high end textures.

I don't like MP shooters, so I'll pass on this one.

I do like all these $30 and $40 titles we're getting lately -- this, Hellblade, Yakuza, WipEout, Crash Bandicoot. Makes it easier to take a risk on the game.

I get the feelin you don't like MP game in general. Is it because fatigue? Bad experiences? Lack of skill?

That's right, I don't like online gaming in general, MP shooters in particular. Several reasons. I don't play much online, so I'm not very good. Getting killed a lot is not my idea of a good time. I like games with interesting characters and plots, and those are never present in online shooters. The gameplay feels repetitive to me; it just doesn't hold my attention for more than half an hour or so. There is too much of a focus on competition and ranking. And I don't game on a schedule, so it's hard to coordinate times to play with friends, so I end up with random people.

I'm the same way. I don't have the time to get great at a game so I typically suck, especially those where you have to get to level 50 just to unlock key equipment and abilities.
