Same with TMNT, very few of the new series that matches the detail of the 89 original.
But yeah, when you get older you tend to dislike when familiar things you love gets changed, like your testicles start hanging more than when you where a teen.

The old animation doesn't look particularly good either though, I think a lot of us remember things to be better than they actually were at the time. This one can look very nice at times and other times it looks like a blend of the old style and the new more common style of animation blended together.

Going from the trailers alone? It looks better, definetlybfeels on twos, a lot of tweening, or it’s just more noticeable, looks clean, but also flat…like you there are times where things just don’t blend in. My guess is budget and schedule were major factors of its production, also cos it’s kinda a risk bring it back.

The old one just looked muddy everywhere, especially in motion. But they were moments where you could tell they were reaching far and sometimes over reaching.

Yes, the animation wasn't good, but the character detail and design was much better.

Fine, I didn’t want to reference this, but it’s the most obvious lol but they don’t include the pic that is seen everywhere for reference 😆



My guess they, the artist, were getting carpal tunnel for both animating and still frames, they should’ve just used a French curve…. Even though there’s pics where she looks very similar in shape in the og one as well lol

I just remember watching the old one and seeing colors flicker and disappear on things at times, people in the background often didn't have a face and animated poorly etc. It was kind of cheap in that way at times.

This is why she's my favorite lol, practically a god when it comes to her powers. Always a sucker for weather/elemental based control powers though.


 
Watched the first episode. It's like Star Wars Force Unleashed in that the mutant powers are X-TREME now. The art direction is awesomely modern, while the animation retains the classic look. Only bummer is that only two episodes were released so far.

This show has been incredible to watch. A great pairing with Invincible. I also didn't realize how much I missed this specific world. Characters, costumes, and horny roman plots. I actually kind of teared up a bit. Rare do I feel the nostalgia hit hard, but here it hits like a ton of bricks.

It does have less detail than the original, but we get better animation as a result, and I think that's a fair trade. Either way, it looks good overall.

New episode was amazing, wasn't a huge fan of the last one but this one was GREAT! lol.

I’m currently rewatching the old cartoon on D+ recently. I’ve been watching a couple episodes before I go to sleep. This has been bringing back some good memories.

My two youngest have had no interest in watching it with me lol.
