I save constantly in every game I play. The sequence of button/key presses to get to and out of the save menu are muscle memory for me.

Press start, thumbstick up, A, thumbstick up (to select and save on the oldest of several incremental saves) A, A, B, done.
I may have a condition.

In this game on missions you can no longer save your game manually and the check points are awful. It's especially frustrating on the harder difficulty.

Yeah. The checkpoints are weird.

But if you 'got good' the checkpoints become irrelevant.
Ygrin:

I still don't know how that rating works. Haven't looked into it and probably forgot if they ever explain it.

It's the same as it was in Mass Effect 3. It goes up and down depending on how well you do in matches.

Haven't gotten that one yet. I'm mostly using Solider for the damage and resistance boosts. Playing on hardcore those boosts area god send.
Right now I'm using vanguard with charge, nova, and incinerate. It's working great for me. However, I don't think it will be all that great on insanity.

I haven't gone that depth. But I heard one of the main issue with Charge & nova is, many bosses, you can't get near them. So you will need a loadout that is not melee range as backup against certain boss.

Also by any chance anyone tried the MP?

I've played lots of the MP. I really like it. I've nearly two characters at level 20 and I'm working on a third. It's biggest problem is the broken match making. Two people together still cannot get a match. I hope this gets fixed soon.

The Human Kineticist looks to be a bad ass character if you like biotocs. Saw a dude nearly solo a gold match with her. I'm working on her at the moment.

I had my reservations about the MP, but having played a fair bit I must say it isn't bad. If you enjoyed Gears of War's Horde Mode then you will likely find some enjoyment here. It has 7 waves that scale in difficulty, two of the waves are objective based and the final wave is about surviving and extracting. There is nothing complicted here, it is all fairly simple stuff.

The key thing is to find a character you like. Thankfully, it doesn't take long to figure out if a character is for you or not.

Are you supposed to be given a choice after setting up each settlement as to what you want to focus on?

After this and Inquisition I realize that I really don't like the way Bioware handles open world. So much lifeless filler content. The only things I want to play are the main missions and the loyalty missions.

Sentinal - Tacrical Invader: Cryo Beam, Incinerate and concussive Shot. Is working well for me, especially along side Peebee and her biotic skills.

Oh and if anybody wants an OP shotgun that shreds, check out the N7 Pirahna with Plasma seeking augmentation. I haven't even invested in the shotgun skills yet either.

That is true of pretty much all similar games pre Witcher 3. Even post Witcher 3 it is only Witcher 3 and Horizon(from what I hear) that improved significanty.

The problem with every game feeling the need to go open world is there is so much competition. Mass Effect can't help but look subpar releasing within a month of Horizon and Zelda.

menace-uk- match making update released.

An update this AM to improve #MEAMP matchmaking (empty lobbies). Custom solo may still need 2-3min at times but grouped w 1 should be better

Where did you even see this? Cause I am not seeing mention of a patch on any official site/account.

Some developer twitter account. Pulled it from the Reddit Sub. I'll see if I can find anything new.

Hi everyone,

It’s been two weeks since the launch of Mass Effect™: Andromeda and we’re thankful to the millions of you who have already joined us on this journey. And though the game is now in your hands, it’s really just the beginning.

Since launch, our team has been poring over your comments and feedback, looking to discover what you like about the game, as well as areas we can evolve or improve.

This Thursday, we’ll release a new patch that addresses technical fixes (crashes, improved performance), but also adds a number of improvements we’ve heard you ask for, such as:

Allowing you to skip ahead when travelling between planets in the galaxy map
Increasing the inventory limits
Improving the appearance of eyes for humans and asari characters
Decreasing the cost of remnant decryption keys and making them more accessible at merchants
Improving localized voice over lip sync
Fixing Ryder’s movements when running in a zig zag pattern
Improving matchmaking and latency in multiplayer

Over the next two months we’ll be rolling out additional patches which will go even deeper and look to improve several areas of the game:

More options and variety in the character creator
Improvements to hair and general appearance for characters
Ongoing improvements to cinematic scenes and animations
Improvements to male romance options for Scott Ryder
Adjustments to conversations with Hainly Abrams

These upcoming patches will also address performance and stability issues. And we’re looking at adding more cosmetic items to single player for free.

For multiplayer, over the same timeframe, we’re going to continue to build on the APEX missions that have been running since launch. We’ll be adding new maps, characters, and weapons. On Thursday, we kick off the first of three new chapters centered around The Remnant Investigation.

This is just a taste of what’s in store as we continue to support Mass Effect: Andromeda. And as always, you all play an important role in that. We want to hear from you about your experiences, both what you love about the game and what you’d like to see changed. We’re listening, and we’re committed to partnering with you as we continue to explore the Andromeda galaxy together.

Here’s to a great journey,

Aaryn

Sounds good but I am glad I didn't buy the early access version

I'm glad they're going back and fixing the game but in all honesty it shouldn't have shipped in this state.
Delaying a game are sometimes not an option, especially when there are locked in contracts and shareholder expectations. Unfortunately, it's the nature of the business.

And like other huge, big budget games, they probably had a laundry list of things that needed fixing, and they had to prioritize the ones that broke the game.

I understand that but it seems to me that some of the larger game corporations despite shareholders can afford to delay games until its in a polished state. Case in point is Nintendo. Breath of the Wild was darn near delayed a whole console generation but was worth it due the critical and more importantly financial success it has become. But Nintendo rolls to beat of its own drum so they may be the exception. More to your point, if ME:A proves to be a commercial success in EA's eyes despite its problems, I fully expect to see more of the same from Bioware in the future where it relates to ship then fix.
Then again this is why I am an armchair analyst and not on any company's payroll.

Welp, I guess I still need to finish HZD and Watch Dogs 2. It's not like I'm that far into the game either.
