launched yesterday. anyone played it?

i'm finding it really fun so far, the gameplay lends itself well to online due to how snappy and responsive it is.

Are you joking? I can spot and get spotted by absolutely everyone. It's only practical at night in some form of cover like tall grass or rain.
I have no trouble dying with it on, and have no trouble spotting every wannabe snake trying to be sneeky breeky. Point is I'ma disagree.

To the meat of it - Game has connection issues. Lag is present and it's still player host based. so that's a turn off. But I do find it fun. I think snipers might prove to be overpowered. Too early to tell.
 
Not at all. There isn't enough of a reason to pick the other classes.

I am not 100% committed to that opinion but that is my early take.
 
Infiltrators are also the squishiest class. May be the fastest but you could sneeze on one and get the kill. I will not deny the usefulness of it in specific circumstances, but I have yet to be spawn camped to oblivion by a group of them. That's my metric for a broken system or map. Paradiso in Halo Reach was an abomination.

Still learning. Anyone ever try going in with just a tranq pistol? I'm gonna try that later today. And probably lose horribly.
 
I haven't played MGS V yet, i know i'm missing out. Glad to hear the online is solid though. I played MGS online back with MGS4 and thought it was good.
 
ehhh "solid" is a tiny bit too far. the pieces are there but it's hampered by its peer to peer connectivity. If they ever said they had dedicated servers, they sure as s*** aint doin much.

But it is certainly fun. cloak and dagger is some bull with both teams being able to cloak but it has its moments. I do hope they continue to support the game. It's good now but I know it can be better.
 
Pretty frustrating when the host quits late in the game and everyone is kicked. No host migration. No XP given. Nothing. Considering how long it takes to get into the online, how long it can sometimes take to get into a game, and that it doesn't like to find games with room for the entire party its a question how long I would keep coming back without fixes and improvements. Who knows if Konami cares enough that we will even get any of those.

The current state of it is definitely a little lame, but they've certainly acknowledged the problems. I have near nothing good to say of konami but at least they're trying. Or putting up the illusion of trying.

Also I realize we have a similarly titled thread made back in december. To anyone in charge of that decision, should we combine or just leave it alone?

havent had any connection problems myself. thought that statement would have been about things such as how the entire game ends if the host leaves or in-game balance issues

And I like how they are making up to you with in game cash to buy...very little as they are holding back stuff to charge real money for.
