Apologies if this has already been discussed. Came across this on a youtube channel, apparently it's a legit rumor. Seems like such an odd fit. The new MGS is supposed to have a multiplayer component right?

It cost you game currency to do everything? f*** that.

LOL at the use of micro-transactions too. Pay us this much to not wait for this to get done, seriously???

What, really? Come on.

Next thing you know, people will make silly claimed that they will sexualise a female character, & she will be wearing only bra & underwear with torn hooker stocking, while welding a big gun.

Sounds like my kind of game.

DAY ONE BUY!

As if mad max, a warner bros. game, won't have some horrible scheme in mind.

Also Quiet's a chick, that chico post-op theory is r******d.

And come on, metal gear news in the (shameless and ineffective plug) metal gear thread.

The theory is that these charges are relegated solely to base project time.
Some history - Expanding the base and starting research in peace walker also took long amounts of time, and it only progressed when you completed a mission. The previews have said that this new feature is only available when connected to their server, which could mean a world based timer where 1 hour to complete means 1 hour and not the ridiculous week long ordeal to finish a new curry recipe.
Were this the case, it would actually be an improvement.

The microtransactions involved are decidedly not, of course. I'll be the first to defend this series, but konami is throwing away every bit of good will they've ever earned.

Rumour: In order to skip cut-scenes, you have to pay a micro-trans fee.

I know it's a joke but my inner buzzkill can't stop me from saying - achshkuachually, previews state that cutscenes are much shorter and less frequent than before.

I just hate fun.
