Actually, I agree. Weird.
All of the companies are making money, so I don’t think any of them need E3 to be great (from a business perspective).
However, Sony has shown its hand, and taking a deeper look at just a few upcoming games is interesting. They all look good, and they are already riding the wave, so I can see why they going in that direction.
MS has the most to gain if they hit a home run. Phil has had enough time, and I think they could even take a page from Sony and show some stuff that’s a ways off. But the lack of rumors thus far is concerning.
However, I look at a game like Rage 2, which NO ONE even knew a tiny bit about, and boom, a potentially high quality game from a big developer comes out of nowhere...AND is far along in development.
So I still have some hope we might see a few unexpected big things. Maybe.
