We need chartz, am I right?

It also showed more software than any other publisher at E3 2017.
With E3 done and dusted for another year, we've gone ahead and tallied up every game that was shown at this year's event and compared this year's efforts against last year's. In doing so, we discovered that E3 2017 had a 60% increase in new IPs when compared to 2016 and that there was 55% more gameplay shown this year (fewer teasers and trailers). Digging through the numbers, we also discovered that Microsoft increased the games it had on stage four-fold, beating out Sony, Nintendo, Ubisoft and Bethesda.

To be exact, Microsoft showed a whopping 45 games on stage this year, a much stronger presence than its 2016 conference which only featured 11 games. Admittedly, a big part of this was thanks to Microsoft's ID@XBOX montage but a game shown on stage is a game shown on stage.

Microsoft had 50% more games on stage than Sony, which only showed off 30 games this year. This was still an admirable showing from Sony and increase of 114.3% from its previous year.

Microsoft's strong showing is well reflected when we break down the games shown by platform. The Xbox One was the most represented console when it came to compatible games with 76 titles in total coming to Xbox One. Sony came in a close second, with 69 compatible titles shown at E3 2017 coming to PlayStation 4. This again is helped greatly by Microsoft's indie support and its ID@XBOX montage.

Despite the epic roster of games Microsoft touted on screen, the Xbox One's exclusive lineup still doesn't hold a candle to the PlayStation 4's (or even Nintendo Switch for that matter).

With that said, a lot of that can be attributed to Microsoft's efforts to share titles across PC and Xbox, nullifying their exclusive title. Platform exclusivity is a blight on the industry anyway, so try not to pay too much mind to it.

Man, Bethesda really phoned it in last year.

Nice job uploading the charts and stuff too Kvally.

Can we get a graph comparing the amount of charts you uploaded this year to last?

I feel that it'd add something to the thread. Mainly more charts.

Didn't Greenburg or someone else say they will show more games that they didn't show during E3 at later events this year?

Yup. They have held back games to spread them through out the year.

I'm not a big fan of those indie montages, whether by Sony or MS. The games go by too fast to get any sense of them.

One of the most misleading pie charts ever.
I know right. Some people manipulate pie charts for all the wrong reasons.

But then sometimes I feel like line graphs show the story more acurately...

And they can really take you on the journey of a product too.
pie3.jpg

And then you can make the line out of whatever the subject matter may be...
pie4.jpg

And then you can celebrate, for having made such great graphs!

...And then update your graph...

I want to know about that dip in cocaine usage. Maybe that was when they went to prison.

Where's puresoul002 when you need him. We need more chartz and graphz.

4x as many, lol. "Console launch exclusive" rewriting the rulebook as we go.

It's turning out to be a great year for the XBOX. The saltiness in this thread makes it even better.

Yup, it's been Year of the Xbox, just as advertised.

I re-read the thread, and I don't see the salt.

I do. It's in the first post and the thoughts of every Xbox fanboy. But we do got games, i'm telling you guys. 20 timed exclusives!

No, you don't. Get back to me when Microsoft builds some first party studios and/or let's their current studios try something other than Halo, Gears, and Forza.

That can't be right. There's no way Sony showed 91 exclusives. Where is he getting that number?

And then he goes on to say MS's number is low because "a lot of that can be attributed to Microsoft's efforts to share titles across PC and Xbox, nullifying their exclusive title." But the chart is labelled console exclusives, and Xbox/PC games are still console exclusives.

hur?

Ah yes, you raise a rather pointed point there Andy. Rather pointedly, if I do say so myself.

Also, there is this.

Quality not quantity. Id rather play one Zelda or Horizen ZD than a hundred versions of Recore or Sunset Oversrive.
But I digress. The only MS exclusive I can think of that I like anymore is Forza but im getting an Xbox One X (terrible name) for third party games cause im a graphics whore.

Can someone please point me to the posts that are allegedly salty? Second request. I'm not seeing it. Salt = bitterness and frustration. I'm seeing people some people express some criticism. That's not bitterness and frustration. Who exactly is being "salty" here in the thread?

"Negativity," ok -- I get that. I just dislike seeing "salty" thrown around when it doesn't fit. Seems like a cheap way to dismiss opinions you don't like.

Example below (I bolded and redfonted and supersized it).

Salt = NA + CL

Ha! I was just following the salt and negative trend for humor. I have no idea who is, and I don't care. I just know I saw a bunch of games at E3 for Xbox that I want from the presentation. If others don't want them, oh the hell well!! (<---my negativity for my thread)

Oh, okay. It was just the third time I saw it in the thread, so I had to ask.
