Middle-Earth Shadow Of Mordor Discussion

At the point, I'm going to purchase the 'complete edition' when that is released. I can't wait to play it.

I want to jump on this on amazon for $28, but I wouldn't even play it for a couple months. By then I'll hopefully get it for that price or cheaper anyway.

This is essentially what I did. Got it on Amazon on Black Friday for $25 knowing full well I won't play it for months. Looking forward to it eventually though.

Well the beast hunt DLC to me was a let down. Just more of the same and the last boss fight is so cheap. IF you enjoyed teh game missing out out that DLC is no big deal. Just more go here kill this orc and the last fight just pissed me off and I did not enjoy that fight at all.

Finally bought the game on PSN, not as cheap as amazon but still a good deal I think at $41.00. So far I'm loving the gameplay, graphics are a mixed bag but I guess most cross gen games are at this point. Playing it makes me wish the studio behind it would make a new gen only Game of Thrones game based on Jon Snow lol.

I bought this game for the PS4 and surprisingly it has good graphics, but the gameplay is stellar! I then bought it on PC to get the highest settings possible. Traded in my SoM on PS4 for DriveClub. Will get back to playing this after I finish some other titles.

I don't understand the hype that this game gets. It reminds me of a game of checkers.

I've gotten to the 2nd last mission but have no desire to finish. It gets quite repetitive after a while.

o_O but you play Destiny?! Ha!

Destiny is different, I'm always constantly thinking and using different primary/special weapons/heavy weapons combos in PvP and/or upgrading my exotics which aren't fully upgraded yet. Besides, still grinding for my last 2 exotics!

There is nothing attracting me to finish the campaign in Shadow of Mordor unfortunately.

So is anyone playing the new The Bright Lord DLC? It's not bad but god damn is it harder then the mean game. I also I swear to god I find the controls feel off like the response time is different. Man I tell you Mr. Elf is a p**** like 4 hits and he drops dead. They put a lot of orcs onscreen and while it's cool looking I can not f***ing lock onto the guy I want to kill I end up hitting my homie Orcs all the f***ing time.

They said it was going to be harder as Celebrator is not as Physically as tough as the Ranger and these ORCS are at the height of Saurons power and stronger. Have not tried it yet though.

the issue is for me is feels more cheap then hard. you have to many orcs around you and s*** if you can control who the hell you're hitting in the game so you end up hitting orcs that are not attacking you and missing the one who is kicking your ass. I mean it's neat to have like 10 orcs all around you fighting your guys and the bad guys but s*** I feel like I don't have total control.

Learn 2 Play issue.

learn to play my ass!! its hard to play when you can't even tell WTF is going on. I'll give them credit for the amount of orcs onscreen seems to be way more then the base game. I'm almost done just just seems to be one more mission to beat up on the hard lord. I enjoyed it so far shorter then I wanted it to be and all the missions are the same but overall it's fun.

So I just started this game the past two days. I noticed that there isn't a difficulty level to choose from. In your opinion is the game hard? If so, is it Dark Souls hard? So far it seems doable for me.

This is the game I plan on starting after beating Metro 2033. Probably would have started this last night instead of Metro, but I already had that downloaded and this game is like 90GB after the HD textures pack.

Well, I will try to monitor this thread and play. I know you are going to laugh, but I have never seen Lord of the Rings or Hobbit movies, and I had no idea that this game was related to it. I just bought it because so many people like it. I just found out this week that it's tied to those movies, in a prequel kinda way.

I know, don't shoot me.

I've seen the LOTR movies (extended versions) once fully, plus bits and pieces on TV. Haven't seen the Hobbit movies yet. You might be a good situation then to just read the books before the movie.

The animations, graphics, movements and attention to detail in this game are just amazing. Not only in combat, but random AI stuff. I was in stealth in the bushes, and I watched three guys walking together and one stopped next to a fire pit and started up the fire. The guy next to him starting throwing up. Then the guy that was starting the fire in the fire pit accidentally lit his arm on fire and went running trying to put that fire out. It's just crazy.

I'm maybe 3-4 hours in with 4 main missions done a bit of side quest stuff. Game is pretty good. Combat flows well for the most part but at least with keyboard (and I'd guess controller) a key that has a command for both in combat and out of combat can sometimes be an issue. Like trying to dodge an attack and instead he decides to climb a wall instead. That sort of thing. Doesn't happen a lot but it happens.

It’s easy if you don’t try to take on enemies that are too powerful.

Right? And the skills and abilities you've unlocked figure into that as well, cause once you get things like the freezing stun and some of the more powerful abilities, the combat in this one got pretty easy. The key thing to remember is that, especially early on, don't be to proud to bail & run away.

The game never really got to a "souls-like" hard for me though, I don't think I ever felt it was frustratingly difficult....
