Two things.
1: no camper worth their weight in dry socks would ever leave their boots outside overnight. That is a great way to get stung or bit and a very painful lesson.2: i'll have to start doing this, closest pic i have is a photo i took right after steeping out of my tent.

I also call bs on the ocean pic, if he was that close to the water that early in the day when he went to sleep he would have had to pitched his tent in the water.
