Improvements are typically higher res and frame rate. Extra content can be more than one game and DLC with some extra modes and items. Graphics may be redone.

Here's a list of key redone games. I might be missing some, especially small scale games like Castlestorm Definite Edition. If I missed any key remastered games, please list.

Halo: MCC: 4 games + DLC. $60

Batman Arkham: 2 games (DLC and price TBD)
Borderlands Handsome Collection: 2 games + DLC. $60
Metro Redux: 2 games + DLC. $50

DMC DE: 1 game + DLC. $40
GTA V: 1 game + DLC. $60
Injustice Ultimate Edition: 1 game + DLC. $60
Saint Rows IV Re-elected: 1 game + DLC. $30 or $40
Sleeping Dogs DE: 1 game + DLC. $60
State of Decay Year One Edition: 1 game + DLC. $30
TLoU Remastered: 1 game + DLC. $50
Tomb Raider DE: 1 game + DLC. $60

God of War III Remastered: 1 game. $40

It's one of the reasons why my next gen game catalog isn't growing very fast. Of the stuff Intelli listed, I've played and completed everything from that list on my ps3 or x360, minus 1 game. Not trying to be that guy, but I'd like something else other than remasters and indie games.

It is better than nothing I guess. Not like they are preventing new games from coming out, just filling the gaps between longer dev cycles for the new hardware. It will trickle out eventually.

You should probably add State of Decay to that list.

I got Tomb Raider DE for $20 via Amazon, that's my personal high end price to play a game again with better graphics if I really enjoyed the previous version. But I paid full on TLoU as it was totally new to me.

There are a few more I'd like to see a redo but honestly my gaming time is already maxed out with a couple really fun games like TGC, FC4, and Ori.

Honestly, if they are asking full price, I likely won't touch it unless there are multiple games included in a collection (like MCC), or it contains much more content than the original. I did buy Tomb Raider, but I hadn't played it yet anyway. I have been eyeballing DMC, but I need a price drop to bite on that one. How they can justify full price for a game they don't even have to make is beyond me.

Easy.

Start high, sell a bunch and then drop the price. Classic case of economics to maximize revenue. Many people will buy something at full price because it's new no matter what it is. Most video games have their sales front loaded, meaning they sell most of it in the first few months at full price because gamers have to have it. heck, it's one of the few industries out there where you can pre-order something not coming out for a year. After easy full priced sales, then the discounts come..... $40... $30... $20.

On the other hand, something like paper towels sells hardly anything at regular price. Most of their sales are generated at sale prices.

and like a sucker I will buy a few of them. I will get the GOW3 but will wait till that hits like $20 no rush to play it again. Liked it but was not as good as GOW2.

Halo is still the best deal by far imo, even without multiplayer which works now and is huge. AND Spartan ops, so much I forget all of it.

Imo judging by MCC, the rest should be $40 unless its more than 2 games.

So look forward to as many remasters as they can make.

Been playing Saints Row for the past few weeks and will be playing Borderlands for the coming weeks.

Give me A Splinter cell chaos theory remake including Spies vs mercs and you couldn't.get the money out of my wallet fast enough

Whenever I hear this phrase uttered by someone other than myself, this song plays in my head...

You can blame Sony for that. They went wild with HD remasters last gen and their best PS4 game is a last gen game. They love reselling the classics and as long as people will buy them, why not? I still think we're getting plenty of new games even with all these remasters though. Some of those like The Last of Us and GTA V could have easily been current gen games anyway.

Have only bought Tomb Raider for $13, was well worth that price.

Beyond Halo MCC, I can't see myself buying any other remastered games. If the market gets flooded with them they won't sell enough to justify continuing doing them. And, to be honest, there aren't that many franchises beyond the ones announced that I can see justifying remasters. I don't see it as a bad thing that these games are coming out during the early years of this generation to help supplement the line up until more people buy the systems.

Why are more options and more good games a bad thing in your mind?

Did you just read his first sentence then go into defense mode? He doesn't say anything of the sort.

I missed a lot of the games in the last year or so of last gen so it's not as bad for me. Though of course, I'd like to see more original content.

Of that list I would only be interested in:

MCC - haven't played 4 yet
DMC - haven't played
GTA5 - mainly for online

The rest I've either already played or have no interest in playing again. A few I have on PC and already max out so no point.
